Recently diagnosed - oesophageal varices and Liver cirrhosis
Last week I went for a
endoscopy
due to having abdominal pains and bloating for nearly a year now, believing it was a food intolerance of some sort, but what they found was much worse, grade 4 oesophageal varices.

Cast adrift
Also next
endoscopy
3yrs.!!! I have had 6 monthly clinic and yearly endoscopy's tho no banding now for 2yrs. I have always felt I had excellent care from the NHS but now I feel cast adrift. This was last month before the Corona virus put the already overworked NHS under more strain.

Confused over diagnosis and prognosis of ESLD
Her
endoscopy
shows no signs of varices and all normal. She was given water tablets which has reduced the ascites - no signs of any fluid now, no jaundice? Her prognosis was 50% chance of living 3-6 months but now the doctor says that her liver tests are normal?

The NHS position regarding accreditation of laboratories
NHS England remains committed to, and strongly endorses, participation in accreditation schemes for imaging (ISAS), physiology (IQIPS),
endoscopy
(JAG) and Pathology including Genetics and Genomics (CPA/UKAS ISO 15189) services.

Letting my anxiety get the better of me
I have had an ultra sound done and an
endoscopy
that both were negative. I also had a ct scan with constast a year ago of the upper and lower abdomen that was also negative. My doctor is sending me for an
endoscopy
with EUS.

The journey continues
I have had an
endoscopy
and waiting results, but the surgeon said all looked good and just completing a SeHCAT scan to assess my bile function. What I would like to know is what should I be asking my oncologist at my appointment next week? What are the options if I am unable to have radiotherapy?

Difficulty breathing, chest infection.
Hope you are all trying to keeps safe and well in these difficult times. My reason for posting this is that earlier this month,I started wheezing, coughing and hard to breath. Dr said it could be chest infection so put me on a course of steroids and anti-biotics. Followed by a chest xray, blood test

He went for an
endoscopy
at our local hospital & his pancreas is not performing properly so the consultant has suggested the above. My concern is that after 2 appointments with the liver team at St James' Leeds is why haven't they picked up on this ?

Severe abdominal bloating
My bloating didn’t resolve after a few months treatment so I had an
endoscopy
which showed mild gastritis (I’ve started Omeprazole for this and will take for two months only) negative for HPylori and I am waiting on the results of a stomach biopsy for coeliac.

Don’t ignore changes in your symptoms
I also got referred to a gastroenterologist who wants to do an
endoscopy
as he thinks I have a hiatus hernia. I had ignored those symptoms for over a year!! Take heed, I know it is very difficult to get a doctors appointment these days but please do go if you notice any changes in your symptoms.

Has anyone else been diagnosed with PA at the age of 19?
I was diagnosed with Pernicious Anemia at the age of 19 and I had all of the tests done such as colonoscopy and
endoscopy
and other blood tests and nothing came back positive.

Gastro-Intestinal bleeding on anticoagulants is a sign of cancer
The key message is that if you have GI bleeding, don't just pass it off as the anticogulant, you must have an
endoscopy
to see if there's something there.

Please I need some answers
I’ve explored the gastrointestinal route so having an
endoscopy
soon as well. Does anyone have similar or know if it’s an indication of endo? I know that to officially know you need a lap but I just wanted to know other people’s thoughts about whether it sounds like endo.
