AV Node ablation and Pacemaker
Has anyone on the forum had an AV Node ablation and Pacemaker. It was one of the treatments to consider when I met with an EP for the first time last week. (have been previously treated by a cardiac consultant for last 6.5 years for AF). Apparently I have a number of arrhythmia's going on which are

Injections prior to a hysterectomy??
I went to see my consultant yesterday, my 6 month check up after having an
Endometrial
ablation
. The procedure has made my bleeding lighter but the pain is just the same if not worse, that was my reason for having it done.

Hi, I thought I'd introduce myself as a new member here. My husband had a minor heart attack two years ago and was also diagnosed with hypertension, atrial fibrillation and sleep apnoea. He had two stents inserted and along with Clopidogrel and Atenolol, he began Acenocoumarol. He was told that

Catheter Ablation or Keyhole Surgery.
Hello all, this is my first posting so I hope I'm doing things correctly. I've had persistant, long standing A/F for about 2 years now, been hospitalised once. Today I had my first appointment with the E.P. and to cut things short, I was offered the option of either a Catheter Ablation or Key Hole Surgery

1st Atrial Fibrillation and Atrial Flutter Ablation last Monday. Went very well and hopefully successful but on Wednesday
I suddenly had visual disturbances, having had a previous T.I.A. and stroke I was obviously worried but this was different. With the T.I.A. I went blind in one eye for 5 minutes with this disturbance I saw shards of crystal clear glass in a zigzag pattern crossing my eyes whether they were open or closed

How long before a Microwave Endometrial Ablation (MEA) or Novasure works?
I had my ablation seven weeks ago when I had my lap. I bled for five weeks after, and then my periods started on Tuesday just gone, so about a week without bleeding, plus I had already been on my period ten days before my lap/ablation, so it feels like I've been on loads. This period that the started

Stuck in the Middle !!!
Have been having alot of problems with my medication, so went to see my GP last week. I am currently on bisoprolol 2.5mg, clopidogrel 75mg and ramipril 5mg. I also take patoprazole 40mg. It has been very diificult to manage my heart rate, typically the resting rate is between 75 and 100. This I can put

Endometrial Cancer Awareness
I then asked to have a Hysterectomy but was told that my BMI was too high, so I asked what the other option was, which was an '
Endometrial
Ablation
'. This procedure involves a small abllon being inserted vaginall into the womb and filled with hot liquid to coterise the womb lining.

After 3rd lap in 3 years the pain is back::-(
Three years ago I had an
endometrial
ablation
for heavy periods. At the same time a lap was performed as I had stomach pain. A cyst was found on my left ovary and removed and endometriosis was found and diathermied. I was also sterilised at the same time.

What should a carer expect after ablation? Recovery time
Thanks to everyone who answered my question a few weeks ago when my partner and I were about to see the consultant. Your replies were much appreciated. We saw the consultant again this morning for a second time, and my partner will be having a catheter ablation on 6 June. What I'd love to know from

Amiodarone & catheter ablation
Can anyone tell me whether they had to stop taking Amiodarone some time before their ablation & if so was it an abrupt stop or did they keep taking it right up to the event please!

no real discussions with a consultant before my first lap
last july was my last gynae appointment with a consultant, he at that time agreed to remove mirena and do
endometrial
ablation
and said 'oh you don't need a laparoscopy' he also said that my fibroids wouldn't be causing my pains or problems, but why wouldn't they?

Ablation Availability in the UK
I have seen quite a few people here and on other forums asking similar questions. Why have they not offered me an ablation? OR Why are they offering me an AV Node Ablation and a pacemaker? This really got me wondering about why???? I have spoken to a few others about it including some in the medical
