this is my 2nd posting, my 1st query was about AV node ablation, my EP specialist has recommended that I have the AV node ablation
my cardiologist would rather I tried a pacemaker with 190mg of high dose Metoprolol, as AV node abaltion is a last resort, unfortunately this hasn't worked as I could not tolerate more than 145gms Metoprolol - 3mths after having the pacemaker inserted my heart rate went down to 43bpm, I was taken to

AV Node ablation, I've read that much I am lost on the benefit
I only found this site when I was given a booklet from Clydebank Jubilee Hospital when I had my second ablation on 3/2/14. My brief background, I'm 58, took a reaction under a simple day case general anaesthetic to investigate a lump (turned out to be an abscess) they had to use the defribulator to

Bit of an update not been on much
Well had appt with rheumy week ago and we had a long discussion about stuff. He started off saying he thinks a lot of my pain is fibromyalgia and sleep apnea until he had a look at my blood test results, really high inflammatory markers and changed his mind about that assumption. I aslo told him that

Anybody know what these ECG findings mean?
Had a 12 lead ECG with 3 printouts over a 3 minute period while in AF ( very mild and almost no symptoms ) The first one - NSR with short PR. Otherwise normal ECG The second one - NSR . Nonspecific T wave abnormality -Unconfirmed Abnormal ECG The third one - accelerated . Junctional rhythm

Has anyone had a convergent procedure on their heart? I understand it is a surgical ablation in which there will be a catheter ablation too

Post AF catheter ablation how long does it normally take to be pain free?
3 months since a successful ablation but despite the first 2 weeks feeling great I now always seem to have chest pains. Doctor has told me everything is OK and just start to get more active which I am but am I just expecting too much too soon ? How long has it taken other people to get back to full strength

Catheter Ablation
Hi All, I have just joined the website and it is nice to know that I can share my feelings with others who are in the same position. I had a routine examination at my GPs and was told that my heart was missing a beat. Later in that week I had an ECG and was diagnosed with AF. I read a lot about the

Does anyone have experience of a hybrid ablation?
Hello, all being well with the rest of my heart, I'm about to undergo a hybrid ablation, a relatively new procedure in the UK. I'm wondering if anyone else in the community has experienced this and how was it for you? It will be a 2 part procedure with the surgical thoracic part coming first. I'd like

Can endometrial ablation fail? Had it done in May 2013...womb lining has grown back?!?!
I have stage iv endo, I had ablation and removal of endo done. Pain started returning after 2-3 months so went onto mini-pill. Had scan to check for ovarian cysts and it shows my womb lining has thickened again. Am I doomed? Help

Recovering from cardiac ablation.
Had ablation in mid Jan 2014, recovering well, pulse in sinus rhythm most of the time, only seems to become arrhythmic when i have stomach cramps and diarrhoea. Am on Amiodrone 200mg daily (since ablation), Bisopropal 5mg and Warfarin 7mg, any advice?, anyone else experiencing the same?

Any advice - I'm running out of steam and just can't keep fighting.
This is on top of the two operations last year for breathing problems and an
endometrial
ablation
(I now can't have children). I also have to look forward to an operation this year on my gall bladder. Sorry to vent, but I really am getting to my wits end.

In from the unknown...how I found out about AF
Before I get underway I'd really like to hear from you, particularly if you've had a successful ablation. It began for me in 2009 when visiting a Urologist he checked my pulse and advised I see a cardiologist. I was diagnosed with Atrial Flutter and was explained risked and the reason for some side

Does the catheter ablation have any effect on "simple" palpitations? I have rapid paroxsymal AF and am considering the ablation.
I started the AF episodes 3 years ago. They were 1x 6 months, 1x 3 months... now 1-2 per each month. So I have been told the ablation would be the best solution. I use the "pill in the pocket" method at present with Flecainide and Metoprolol and it takes about 5-6 hours to stop the episode BUT I feel

Hello, I've just subscribe to HealthUnlocked, this will be my 1st posting. Has anyone had an AV ablation/pacemaker done? how successful was
I have had episodes of paroxysmal or persistent AF for the last 4yrs, I have tried all available medication without success. I've now come to the end of the line, a AV node ablation has now been mentioned, I'm due to see the EP specialist next week. I'm not happy about having one done, hoping there's

Trying to decide on next move - Hysterectomy or not?? I would love to hear others experiences etc
Basically for the last 3 years I have had a period, in that I tend to only get a few days without bleeding.....I have tried many things such as Northisterone to try and stop the bleeding, that didn't work so I then had a Rollerball
Endometrial
Ablation
, and that too was unsuccessful.....so we tried Zoladex

Anyone had an endometrial ablation , how long until I know if it has worked.
Had lap and had Endo removed, also had ablation 2 months ago now, had a very small amount of blood yesterday, does this mean it hasn't stopped my periods from coming.

Appreciate experience/opinions on Digoxin please. I have to take it along with 5mg bisoprolol which I've taken for 3 years. Thanks Sunigirl
AF for 11 years. 3 ablations and pacemaker. Do not want AV node ablation. Episodes every 3 to 4days lasting 15 plus hours.170 bpm.
