I saw the 'big cheese' on Friday (Professor Mark O'Neill, Consultant Cardiologist/EP). Just a check up. I have brady and tachycardia. I had a pacemaker implanted in August to sort the brady bit and was given Bisoprolol 2.5mg x 1 daily plus Apaxiban 5mg x 2 daily. Had trouble with settings for PM and

New AFib patient
I recently was diagnosed with AFib. I'm a long distance cyclist and began to experience a rapid heart rate infrequently on some rides. I went through a whole battery of cardio tests and nothing was found and my heart was deemed to be fine. However, I continued to periodically experience rapid heart

Catheter Ablation
Had ablation three days ago and post op was awful. Got better as the day went on. Woke up next day and was at work within an hour of release. Felt poorly that night and next morning but by afternoon was back at work and haven't looked back. Feeling great.

New device
Hi. I was having INR checked when the nurse asked if I had heard about the new device which is implanted to control AF. Very recent trials. Having just had av node ablation (Oct) was angry with myself for having it done. If this is fact why oh why didn't EP tell me to wait awhile instead of urging

CRP levels
I've been on a decreasing dose of pred for GCA and PMR since September last year, now down to 4mg from 60. My rheumy doesn't believe in frequent blood tests. A couple of months ago I went to the GP because I was getting back and joint pain, and he sent me for a blood test. Results I was told showed borderline

Hi! Newbie with AVNRT
Hi, i am not only new to this site, but to any type of community forum. I found it whilst google-searching my condition. After 4 days of palpitations I went into A&E with 171bpm which went up to 300bpm every few minutes for 3 and a half hours, treated with adenosine, then beta-blockers then flecanaide

Back to hospital
Back to Qe hospital in the morning to have a third cardiac ablation. Hoping this goes better than the last one. Had to have a drain in then because of a tamponade then was sent home and had another one 2 weeks later.

Going to have a cardiac ablation for Afib
I'm going to have a cardiac ablation within the next month and I just want to see from people who have had it what are some of the things I can do in preparation for it or to ask the doctor to do for me to make it painless and recuperate without anxiety!

Pacemaker and AV Node ablation? Mini-maze?
Just returned from visit to EP here in Scotland. Having taken myself off of Amiodarone (200mg) and Bisoprolol (10mg) and Ramipril(5mg) back in the Spring of this year because they weren’t bringing my rate down below 120, I initiated lifestyle changes, increased supplements including high dose magnesium

Post atrial flutter ablation
A week ago Monday I had catheter ablation for atrial flutter. Wednesday of this week I woke up to quite excruciating pain top of my thigh / groin area. Went to see practice nurse who then got GP to check me out and said it was quite common. Through the day on Wednesday it became swollen then yesterday

Catheter ablation
Hi I'm 39 years old and was diagnosed with VT in May after being Mia diagnosed for five years previously with panic attacks. Two days ago I had my second ablation as the first one did not work and was still having VTs. Today I'm still having some salvos of around 8 beats and just want to ask if these

3 weeks post AV node ablation
I was hoping I could post a very positive outcome but it's not happening yet. Pacemaker set at 60bpm lowest it's been down to 49 for a few minutes 1 week after ablation and I can feel my heart having its tantrums more often and pulse misses. On the positive side my pulse rate is not fast - hurrah!

AV NODE ABLATION
I would like some advice from anyone who has undergone an AV NODE ABLATION. I was diagnosed with AF over 10 years ago, during that time they tried for about 4 years to treat me with Warfarin, Amoderone and Bisoprolol which I found very difficult to tolerate. They then tried Flecainide which helped control

Thank you
I would like to thank every one who sent me good wishes for the AV node ablation yesterday. All went well and It only took 30 minutes. I had a restless night but I think that was due to overactive imagination wondering if I would have scary symptoms which I didn't. EP said that it was a successful ablation

A V Node ablation
I have date for av node ablation Tuesday 13th Oct. EP advised it as 3 failed ablations and then pacemaker in 2011. I am unable to tolerate rhythm meds and only Bisoprolol up to 5mg. This isn't what I wanted but I am hoping I will feel much better and be able to have the hip replacement I desperately

How do you avoid your ectopic heartbeats?
Hello folks. I had catheter ablation for SVT last year (which so far has been a complete success!) but I am plagued with ectopic heartbeats. I have them all day everyday. My cardiologist says they're nothing to worry about and that suits me fine. I just liken them to feeling like internal hiccoughs and
