Hybrid Ablation
Hi All, I have just agreed my future treatment. My AF is probably caused by years of endurance exercise. I had very brief periods of AF while exercising for a couple of years, but which went undiagnosed. My diagnosis came when I went into Persisitant AF in February 2016, since when I have only had

I know this forum is about anemia but I have a question about polycythemia?
Okay so back in April my red blood cell counts were high 5.31(3.70-5.10). Hemoglobin 15.6, hematocrit 46.9. Doctor initially was testing for vitamin D3 deficiency. Had no idea about the red blood cell count he said everything was fine except the D3 deficiency. Now recently I just had a cardiac ablation

Ablation for ectopics?
Hi. Newly joined this forum and have been reading some of the discussion topics on cardiac arrhythmia with interest. My own 'tale of woe': been suffering from atrial ectopics since 1973, which came and went over the years. 'Upgraded' to A.Fib. around 1996, temporarily alleviated by cardioversion several

New research into AF
Hi everyone, although I have had I believe a successful ablation October 2016 as part of a trial lead by Dr Sabine Ernst at the Royal Brompton Hospital London it has not deterred my interest in this rogue condition. I look for new research all the time as I believe there is something that goes much

3 days after Catheter Ablation - Yikes!
I feel actually pretty good except when I lie down to sleep. I can't breathe very well. This is new. I can walk and when I'm up breathing is ok, but at night I haven't slept in 2 days. Feels like small breathing space, have to effort to breathe in over and over. I know I need to rest, and that makes

Ablation with 50% chance of success

Waiting for results
Hi, I'm waiting for the results of a large polyp that was removed due to heavy menstral bleeding, dr thought that was the cause and I may not need
endometrial
ablation
after all, but started period yesterday which has been very heavy with flooding and clots so no difference at all.

Post ablation fatigue
Hello. Just had a rf catheter ablation for wpw and svt about 3 weeks ago, doc said it was successful and went very well and he believed I was done. Usually procedures last last 2-6 hours but mine only lasted about and hour and a half from what my partner said. It was a good experience overall. I didn't

Just been diagnosed with A Fib
Hi Everyone, I have just been diagnosed with Afib. I am on 2.5mg bisoporol and 50mg x2 daily flecanide I am feeling really tired lethargic and panicky at present as I more worried about having a stroke than the afib itself. Doc said he will refer me for Catheter ablation as I am fit and well otherwise

Dr Gillian Marshall- Glasgow Royal
Hi, I now have an appointment with the EP Dr Gillian Marshal on the 14th March. Has anyone had a consultation or currently under her care? I have been referred by my local cardiologist for AV node ablation, just wondering how long I will need to wait for the procedure. Currently on amiodarone and my

What's the view out there about repeated ablations?
So. It's a long time since I have posted on here. In 2014 I had a successful catheter ablation for paroxysmal AF. I was 50 at the time and otherwise healthy. I have a ghastly suspicion the discoing frogs are back again...... what are people's opinions on having more than one ablation? My EP said if AF

Problems after catheter ablation
I have been suffering with afib since last year. I has hindered me at work quitell a bit. So on the 25th I had an ablation done that went very well. I went back to work 7 days later. My jobs is very stressful and extremely physical. I only worked 1 day last week (thursday) with work m-Thursday. And

Flecainide as Pill in Pocket
Good to find people on this forum who are taking Flecainide as a PIP. Two years ago, following two failed ablations for AF I went into serious tachycardia and flutter for almost three days on the ward, despite all the drugs they could throw at it. So I had an AV node ablation and was fitted with a

Hi guys, I am new to this forum. So here goes... when i was 15-16 i started noticing how hard my heart would really pound when doing short bursts of exercise but kind of thought this was normal. I got to the stage where it would really annoy me keep hearing the "whooshing" noise on my ears etc so i

in A-F after 20 days from Catheter Ablation
I had my first Catheter Ablation on the 5th January 2017. 20 days later I was in a -Fib again. I had cardioversion and back to NSR. Is that because my Ablation was not successful. No medication after Ablation, just Xeralto 20mg daily Can any one reply on this please.

AF ablation and sinus arrythmia
Hi Firstly I want to say a big thank you to all who post on here. I found this site by chance only two days ago and find it very informative and reassuring. I was diagnosed with sinus arrhythmia about 10 years ago and was told because I was on a beta blocker for high blood pressure no other treatment

My 'not so brief' story into AF and beyond !! (hopefully)
Hi, I have been monitoring this site for some time now and would like to take the opportunity of thanking each and every person who has taken the time to contribute to it, regularly or not. Sometimes even one little piece of information is the missing bit in the jigsaw puzzle of AF which makes attempting
