Ablation for SVT & sedation
My cardiologist said he favours minimal sedation during a catheter ablation which makes me all the more hesitant to consider it. I’m very anxious about my ability to get through the procedure as he says for success minimal sedation is necessary. It’s early days for me but have to find ways of addressing

Migraine Aura
I Have posted recently about migraine auras. I used to have regular migraines as a youngster, but these reduced in frequency and intensity over the years. After my catheter ablation, I experienced a migraine aura, but without the headache; I knew to expect this from information here, and so wasn't

Endo/Hysterectomy
I had an
endometrial
ablation
in January that didn't work so went in to have a hysterectomy on the 27th through keyhole (because I had the previous surgery done abdominally from above the navel to the pubic bone). He said it was 1 of the worst cases he has seen.

Should I be on anti -coagulants ?
I had a catheter ablation 3 years ago in UK which was successful. Does this mean I am cured? I was advised to stay on Anticoagulants (the new type ) for 6 months but then given the option to come off them which I did .However my new G.P has advised that I go back on them .I'm not sure . I recently have

Endurance Athletes with AF?
Hello, I am wondering if there are endurance athletes in this community that have experience with catheter ablation surgery? I was diagnosed with paroxysmal atrial fibrillation 3 months ago. I go into AF 1-2 times/week and they last for 24-36 hours. I tried a few drugs (diltiazem & flecainide) but did

20 days since cardiac ablation...
Hi - I have been following the posts on here which have been really helpful and thank you Bob I have the factsheet which has been amazingly reassuring. I am struggling with knowing how much or little to do - I went back to work last week and apart from tiredness and aura was Ok (desk job). Monday felt

How do I know if I slip back into AF
I have had a AV Node ablation and also a PVI ablation. I think I am doing fine but how would I know if I had slipped into AF again since I am pacemaker dependent. If I ask my GP surgery they look kind of vague and change the subject. I feel my strength returning and I am able to do more but I still

Mechanical heart valves and PAF
Hi everyone, Just curious if anyone has mechanical heart valves and PAF too. I’m a 41yo male who was diagnosed with PAF a few years ago. Currently I am having 3 to 4 episodes of AF a week lasting between 30mins to 5hours. I am seeing an EP who is helping me adjust to my new increased dose of Sotalol

update after PVI
It is now nearly two months since this was done and I am still in sinus(I think) difficult when you have had two ablations done a AV node ablation and a Pulmonary Vein Isolation. I did resume Flecanaide at 25mg each night and this seems to calm any runs I feel after I go to bed. I also suffer left

My AF journey takes a turn for the better?
This AF business is really well described as a journey. The situation now is that following the fitting of my pacemaker (CRT-D paced at 80/130 bpm) the risk involved from any further syncope was greatly reduced which was obviously to the good but nevertheless I still didn't feel much better. As posted

Activities after successful catheter ablation for A-Fib
Hi. Just wondering about other peoples experiences of returning to sinus rhythm and how quickly they ramped up exercise and doing things like going to theme parks (rollercoasters) etc. Always been wary of "pre-existing heart condition" notices and even now feeling better, don't want to risk anything

Post Cardiac Ablation
Can someone advise me please. I had a cardiac ablation around 7 years ago which was successful. However now I have an odd heart rate, sometimes is 40 beats a minute during the day and sometimes up to 180. My GP has put me on Losartan for Hypertension which has made me feel awful and gain weight. Surely

Regularised Arrhythmia.
I have had atrial fibrillation issues for some ten years now. Under a Cardiologist and with medication, and a recent catheter ablation procedure, hopeful that problem has been overcome. Time will tell. However Cardiologist has written to say that I have some "regularised arrhythmia" that may have been
