very high blood pressure
I have had and AV node ablation and a PVI in an effort to control my AF . I was given sotalol and it seems to agree with me. I am usually sensitive to most drugs. Unfortunately although it is said that it makes the BP plunge the opposite has happened to me. I do take a diuretic - indapamide, but since

Endometrial ablation
I'm due to have an
Endometrial
ablation
next week. Wanted it done under a local anesthetic but they said it's under a general. To say I'm terrified is an understatement. Just wondering if anyone has had this done and what recovery time was after it.

Post Cardiac Ablation Tiredness
Hello, I'm new to the community and I'm here to learn and share. I have a question. I had a cardiac ablation for atrial flutter in June this year (2019) and 3 months later I'm still having days where I cannot stop yawning and feel tired. Has anyone experienced the same? Is this normal? Any advice is

Spire Leeds or LGI for catheter ablation
Good morning - anyone had experience of a catheter ablation at either Spire Leeds or LGI and who was your EP? Trying to decide which route to take and who to have do the procedure - anyone any experience of Dr Lee Graham or Dr Chris Pepper? I wonder too if the catheter lab at LGI would be much better

Advice on Afib after Catheter Ablation
I am new here Im 57 Male and i have had paroxysmal Afib for about 2 years. My episodes consist of a heart rate in the 150 to 100 usually all over the place for about 6 hours then i convert back to sinus rhythm. unfortunately when i would convert i would have long pauses, the longest one was 7 seconds

Palpations after Cardiac ablation!
I had a Cardiac ablation in Jan 18 Pre procedure I had 50 Ectopic heartbeats a day, now I have between 3-4000 and rising, can the Ablation be the cause and what's the treatment for it, I also get very short of breath?

Catheter ablation: NHS vs private?
Is it significantly safer to have a catheter ablation in an NHS hospital rather than a private one? I am fortunate to have health insurance through my work so I have the option to go private if it speeds things up. I understand it's a relatively safe procedure but wondered if anyone else had made this

update to my previous posts. Cali
Despite an AV node ablation and A PVI I have gone back into AF.. My EP has said that he will offer me a last procedure in an effort to curb the breathlessness that I get from AF. This breathlessness stops me walking more than 5 metres and if I ignore the breathlessness and get on with my chores in the

Reflections on Patient’s Day, Birmingham, 2019, a very personal overview.
Warning:- some material contains a portion of personal ranting on outdated NHS protocols so some readers may need to look away at that point. I thought a post may help me to digest the day if I posted a short(ish?) impression for those who may be thinking of attending future events or of what goes on

Exhausted newbie
Hi all, I've been put onto a low dose of Bisoprolol (1.25mg) as I was having recurrent episodes of SVT. I had my 1st cardiology appointment last month and the consultant has referred me to have a catheter ablation done. At first I was taking my meds during the day but kept coming over really exhausted

AV Node Ablation with pacemaker
Scheduled for AV Node Ablation in November. I'm concerned that I will be missing an opportunity for better treatment if i have this ablation. There seems to be more negative information than positive except from the medical doctors. I have had two ablations for A Fib and two ablations for A Flutter.

catheter ablation success
Hi all been getting a lot of responses and fact sheets regarding the ablation procedure which have been amazing but when do you really know if the ablation has been a success? 6 weeks? Or more?

Can you pick the consultant you want in the NHS?
Hi - I've seen a consultant for my SVT via BUPA so far but my outpatient allowance has now run out. Would I be able to request the same consultant through the NHS? Do they always choose for you or can you have a say in who you want to see? I think it also might be safer to have a catheter ablation

I felt so smug....
No problems at all since the A-Flutter last August then the A-Fib in September triggered by the catheter ablation. That will teach me, woke up about 2.00am feeling odd, eventually got the Kardia out about 6.00 am and sure enough 160 bpm and in Fibrillation. So have tried for the first time the 200 mg
