Hi. Just wondering about other peoples experiences of returning to sinus rhythm and how quickly they ramped up exercise and doing things like going to theme parks (rollercoasters) etc. Always been wary of "pre-existing heart condition" notices and even now feeling better, don't want to risk anything too exciting. Thanks

I wouldn’t be quick to resume exercise, I’d approach it slowly. Your consultant or hospital are best placed to give advice tailored to your situation. Did you ask them?

Personally, I avoid any excitement that could give me an adrenaline rush - I wouldn’t want to undo the benefits os my ablations.

Thanks for your info. The doctor's gave some general info and the rest of it was kind of "see how you get on"

Hi, great question as I’m in the same position. I didn’t get any advice post op so like you are a little in the dark. However, someone on here posted about taking daily walks and then running after a month. I guess we all have to find our own way and slowly push boundaries. I’ve (temporarily) given up alcohol and have given up on caffeine. I’m walking further and faster each week and at some point will try jogging again and then back to 5 a side footy. Hopefully by then I’ll have had a follow up appointment and can get some more advice

Good info thanks. I had my op on 7th Feb this year. Have been doing over 200k steps per month with Samsung Health. Was never a runner (large build and 46yo) so I'm happy to be walking without shortness of breath. I gave up drinking when AF re-started in 2017 and gave up caffeine 6 months ago. Hopefully this has all helped. Keep positive mate and it's all up and up from here :-)
