HBP Medications
A year ago my husband suffered an AKI and ended up in renal failure. He has since recovered but has been diagnosed with Stage 2 CKD. His doctor has recently switched him from metoprolol 100mg to hydrochlorothiazide 25mg. Is there one bp medication that is better than another for CKD? We are new to all

Medication question re Enalapril Maleate for heart condition
My husband has been put on Enalapril Maleate ,recently for a heart condition. His dosage has been recently increased to 5mg which has led to feelings of depression. He was Ok on 2.5 mg but is not doing well on this higher dose. Is this a common side effect?

Another new member - who has really high BP
I was diagnosed with high blood pressure twelve years ago and have taken Enalapril in increasing doses. This July, as a mid-sixties overweight male, I had a mild heart attack which resulted in double bypass surgery. No problems with that (Hooray for the Freeman Hospital!). This week was my third visit

Palpitations and spikes in BP
I get those palpitations that could be PVCs or PACs, I've had them for years but they are more noticeable these days. 3 Nights ago I had a completely sleepless night with them and my blood pressure was very high, in the red zone on my monitor (I should also say I was very anxious at the time). In hindsight

Will Kidney function improve after gemzar/cisplatin
I hovered at creatinine of 1.1 to 1.3 during treatment but 4 weeks after treatment it is now 1.7 with egfr of 30. I am actually not very happy with my oncologist as he has not bothered to call me about the results. I saw them on the computer. Also,, went for a cystoscope at which time they did a urinalysis

Last chance saloon?
I suffered x2 TIA's at end of Feb 18. They came out of the blue despite being on meds for BP but once I got to A&E I was told I was in AF & my BP was 220/160. I spent a week in a ward while they got my BP under control then discharged. I then waited months before I even got a follow up appointment for

Hello, I am on bisprolol 2.5 mg for inappropriate sinus tachycardia, which was thought to have caused/exacerbated my shortness of breath (which was initially caused by severe anemia but persists despite normal Hb [but ferritin is low normal]) . The bisoprolol also brought down my diastolic BP which

Does Losartan cause muscle and joint pain?
I was given Losartan 50 MG by my cardiologist and it did not seem to do anything so she increased it to 100 MG. She said she would rather max out the Losartan before adding another medication. The 100 MG did not seem to do much either as my BP was a little higher than I would like. I went back to her

I can't cry or shed tears!
Hello Everyone, I have a great concern about my eyes. I can't seem to cry at all or shed any tears! That worries me so much! I used to be able tp cru when I felt the need to do so but now I can't. My eyes seem dry...very dry! I didn't have this problem until I started taking and stopping that beta blocker
