Very Severe Emphysema at 41, but feel OK
I’m 41 and recently diagnosed with very severe
emphysema
. It’s come as a big shock, to an extent. I’ve never been a big smoker, mostly socially, but have had a long history of asthma and allergies affecting my breathing.

The Chartis experiment and the missing scope
Hello folks,i have just returned from having my 'Chartis bronchoscopy',this rather long winded, if you will excuse my play on words, bronchoscopy is a pre requirement to determine the suitability for the insertion of Endobronchial valves to increase lung capacity in patients suffering with

Feeling a bit isolated so I'm very glad to find this community. I'm new here. From what I've already read it looks like I will be here often
Looks like I may have a triple crown of asthma,
emphysema
, and possibly lung cancer. So here I am..working on the guilt (ACIM) and most willing and able to get started here in a new community. I'll be age 70 next year. Yikes!

Newly diagnosed - symptoms suddenly very bad
He was diagnosed after a CT scan showed
emphysema
at the top of his right lung. But at that consultation he was just referred to the Royal Free respiratory department. No medication apart from a course of antibiotics and steroids.

Proton therapy
He has mild
emphysema
and his diaphragm on right side where tumor is quite enlarged. He also has a cardiologist consult this Friday so we’re getting things moving. Is there anything I should know or ask tomorrow before the mapping of proton therapy?

Facing Reality
Recently diagnosed with COPD/
Emphysema
. Now all I can think about is how I did this to myself with years of smoking. The toughest part is facing my 3 children, not knowing if I have many years ahead, or if time is getting short.

Skipping meds
From everything I've read here, I think I'm a pretty typical COPD patient, with moderate
emphysema
/asthma. Maybe even mild/moderate. Which is to say that sometimes I feel OK and sometimes I feel quit lousy.
