Facing Reality

Recently diagnosed with COPD/Emphysema. Now all I can think about is how I did this to myself with years of smoking. The toughest part is facing my 3 children, not knowing if I have many years ahead, or if time is getting short.

Don’t be hard on yourself we all smoked have you stopped now because you now need to take good care of your health read up all you can and you will be fine. I only smoked 2 cigs a day but at 70 years old its caught up with me take care x

That’s brilliant I walk 2 to 3 miles a day also go to spinning twice a week take vitamins D

and cod liver oil capsules daily No dairy at all lots of greens salads nuts especially almonds and to be honest I feel good .

Don't be too hard on yourself, just decide to take better care of yourself from this day forward. I had been a former smoker for almost 13 years when I was diagnosed with emphysema and lung cancer. My oncologist told me that the emphysema was probably a given because I grew up constantly being exposed to second hand smoke.

There is an old saying, but I cannot remember exactly how it goes, so here is an approximation; Yesterday is the past, you can't change it. Tomorrow is the future, we don't know what it holds. Today is the present, a gift to be enjoyed.
