Had an outbreak since early April 2018, coughing thick green phlegm since. Breathlessness has got worse with the occasional better day.

Even at rest the breathlessness is bad.

I'm in stage 2 of emphysema.

I hope you get feeling better soon... The heat has been a real killer this year even through I'm on the coast... Mine started in June I also have tons of allergies so its rough to get out at times.. One thing I started to do is drink Termeric and honey with ginger.. I drink it all day just a bit of spices 1/8 of Termic and 1 tsp of honey and a slice of ginger add hot water let it sit for ten min ... They use that in india for inflammation of the lungs... In the winter I leave a pot on the wood stove drink it all day... Seems to get the mucus thin...... I started looking into herbs and spices to add to my food and drinks. For my lung health..

Making tea from fresh ginger has been helpful to me. Tastes a bit fowl but can helps with clearing secretions.

Best,

Hi Cliff could you ask your Gp to refer you to a pulmonary physician if not already done to find out why your condition is not getting better?

This may be due to the heat keep in touch with your GP and RESP team. Use the aquapella , flutterball and breathing info on this site. Good luck and never give up.

I would suggest that with green phlegm and chest tightness even when resting you need to see a doctor and get on antibiotics. Once an infection takes hold, all the herbs and spices in the world will not help.

When I was in a Indian store I told the man I was looking into Indian spices for health . he told me every morning his family has 1 tsp black onion seeds with honey before they start the day.. I love there way of thinking.. On hot days to keep there blood thin witch is good for clotting blood .. They eat hot spices .. I started looking into other countries how they deal with there illness .. Ayurvedic they deal with your body type what you should be eating.. I did a test for that my body does run hot witch means inflammation .. Look it up it is interesting.. Went to a chinese medicine store in China town you pay for the herbs but not the Dr .. He checked my pulse and tongue looked at my eyes.. Told me my body is hot lots of inflammation gave me a list of herbs. I bought a medicine pot really cool you put all your herbs in it drink it over three days.. but couldn't get through the first pot.. My son got up and said are we having bacon and eggs for breakfast..lol then I realized they do use weird stuff in the medicines.. .. I feel it has turned into a hobby ... When I almost died from medication that Dr's have given me that made me have lung infection.that a ashtmatic shouldn't have no one told me.... Another Dr's said I had a patient that die from this medication be careful with it.. You don't die from the Asthma attack you die from overdosing of medications.. I had a lung infection couldn't breath over in Portugal they put in the IV wright away gave me some stuff.. And put on the mask I had already had 8 puffs before I went in .. I was shaking from the medication well when they gave me more my heart rate when so high the alarms went off and they gave me another shot and pill... I came out of it.. But when your older your heart can't handle that much pumping faster..... So I got into what other countries do for there health.. We certainly walk blindly with drugs....I don't not any more... I know you'll find spices for health interesting look it up....Long story sorry..

The meds I will only take when all else fails... Don't like side effect.. When your up 2am in the morning you have a lot of time on your hands to write things out or house bound... Love looking into other countries that is what is great about computers....
