throat closed
Hi
Yes I have the same and this also happens to me. It is quite frightening when it happens. I’ve never mentioned it to the Gp.
Hello TWYA! Yes, I am in the U.S. and our Allergy season is here with FORCE!! It's terrible this year! I walked outside to get my mail and I felt my throat started getting tight and I could hardly breathe! Scary! So I took a Emergency Inhaler! and went back on my nebulizer! After reading on this site today..now I know enough to eat a pineapple or drink the juice! Hope that helps! JANET127
Sounds like this could be laryngospasm tywy. I have this regularly and it can be caused by post nasal drip, or bronchiectasis sticky mucus which I get in my throat, despite having 'dry' bronchiectasis. This is literally the larynx in spasm in reaction to mucus around it. It's frightening but not dangerous - I was told by a physio when I was getting it very badly in hospital one time that if I passed out I would come round shortly afterwards!!
I find a flutter device helps a lot to dislodge the stuck mucus which is causing the problem. Also steam inhalations help. Mine usually clears within anything from 15-40 minutes.
Anyway you should definitely mention it and any symptoms that are worrying you to your doctor. That's what they're there for and they cant help if they dont know.
Yes not a good feeling one night I ate so much pineapple it burnt inside my mouth for days good luck
I haven’t had a transplant but I was told easpecially the stem of the pineapple and juice are good for phlegm removal
Bromelain in pineapple, which is highest in the stem, is good for digestion. But for many, it also causes reflux - can't win! Anyone new to using pineaple with reflux should be extra careful.
I do suffer from reflux but am on nexium daily but it doesn’t seem to effect my reflux
You mean it doesnt lessen your reflux, Help_61? Have a word with your doctor then. These are powerful drugs with side effects and if we are going to take them, we need to know they are doing what they are meant to!
hell ye, it feels like someone has me in a choke hold with pressure been under my Adams apple.
I also have emphysema and apparently asthma but sometimés this feels like guess work by the Drs.
hope this helps 😊
Yes I get that starts my cough off and I feel like I'm chocking but it passes horrible feeling. 😩
I have found that saline nasal rinses and a good ole cough drop sometimes helps as well. The nasal rinse helps loosen the mucus before you have a problem and the cough drops help soothe your throat and actually feels like it may help with moving the mucus along as well. If not in actuality, it does for me mentally. I love the Ricola Cherry Honey. Works like a cough drop but not as strong as some of the strongest out there.
