Amiriodone & NDT update
So I was put on Amiodarone post heart surgery 3 1/2 weeks ago. I thought it was a three week course but it's not. Now on 200mg per day for the next few months . And yes I think it's messing my thyroid hormones up. I did protest over taking it...due to its high iodine content and contrary indications.

12 hours urgent treatment centre = Orthostatic hypotension,
after two recent new episodes of crawling around the house on my hands and knees being unable to stand upright I decided to ring the surgery. No telephone appointment or f2f available so called 111 in desperation. They called back within 4 hours, took lots of detail and said they would report to my

appointment update
Well left for my appointment with a HR of 111. ECG hospital HR 174, BP 167/132.- full blown AF. Deposited in chair and wheeled to the consultant. My husband offered to push as the poor nurse wasn’t strong enough ( I only weigh 67kg ). If the resource was available I would have been kept in hospital

High Coronary Calcium Score
I am a slim, generally fit, active and healthy 70 year old. I have a vegetarian diet, don’t smoke and only drink wine occasionally. I began suffering from breathlessness when running in March 2022 and saw my GP in October 2022. Following a thorough investigation, which included an exercise ECG and calcium

Aortic Valve Replacement Monitoring
I had a surgical aortic valve replacement (tissue valve) in June and I have been lucky enough to have an uneventful recovery. I opted for private surgery because long waits and lack of communication from the NHS was causing me such stress and anxiety and recently retired I had savings I could use.

what is right?
Having had chest pains and breathlessness for a number of years and told it was asthma, despite pumps not working, and originally being told it was angina GTN spray did nothing. Also being told through the years that ECG showed something but still no diagnosis, trips back and forth to A&E. Then four

Surgery and weight
hi guys. I have a really large ovarian cyst. A whopping 30cm. I was originally told it was most likely cancer until I had a CT scan which confirmed it was not cancer. I also have some fluid on my pelvis. I’m booked into have surgery on the 13th and I am absolutely riddled with fear. I’m currently a size

anxious about CAD - MRI result
Hi all, Does anyone know if a cardiac MRI would pick up coronary heart disease , or at least see some part of the arteries? I’m awaiting a CT scan with dye to look into CAD, but my consultant thinks it’s unlikely as I’m 32 , I am overweight and an ex-smoker so I do have some risk factors. My cardiac

Strange interaction with Private Health System..?
I had an ecg which my gp flagged up as indicating some problem with my heart. They even sent a paramedic to my home to check I was ok. I feel ok, sometimes a but breathless, occasionally dizzy, but better now I am taking statins and aspirin.Anyway, I made an appt with NHS cardiology. Earliest was next
