appointment update

Well left for my appointment with a HR of 111. ECG hospital HR 174, BP 167/132.- full blown AF.

Deposited in chair and wheeled to the consultant. My husband offered to push as the poor nurse wasn’t strong enough ( I only weigh 67kg ).

If the resource was available I would have been kept in hospital to try and lower HR.

However, given I have no chest pain, or breathlessness-consultant thought I would be best to relax in my own home.

Tomorrow I trial start on 2x 60mg Diltiazem to replace Amlodipine and Nebivolol.

Also had a chest X-Ray.

I am shattered- physically and mentally. Splitting sore head, off to take paracetamol and try to have a sleep.

Thanks for your support…

I think I have, will check shortly once I calm down. 17 hours that one, probably lasted longer because of the additional stress today.

Hopefully, one day I will get used to living with this.

While your AF is coming and going it's never easy to cope with the attacks.

After 18 years of AF, 3 ablations and lots of cardioversions, I'm now in constant AF, have been for almost 4 years and my heart rate now flits from 60-90 bpm and I can live a fairly normal life.

We have lot's of good reports on this forum regarding Diltiazem. Hope it works for you.

Hope you are back to normal now. I take 300mg Diltiazem without any problems but hoping can reduce or come off completely when I see the consultant for my 3 month follow-up for ablation

Thanks Lizzieloo2- I am hoping it does the trick. I have a follow up appointment in 6 weeks,

Of course, my mind is going into overdrive thinking they have found something my chest X-Ray which I had yesterday. The consultant said it would be 2 months before he wanted to see me. Now it’s 6 weeks, I am stressed to the max. Xx
