Antidepressants vs Antipsychotics
I was diagnosed with
dysthymia
and GAD 10 years ago, put on celexa , which helped the depression and anxiety for a couple of years until I started to have intolerable side effects.

I’ve had I unacknowledged
dysthymia
(but acknowledged anxiety) for my entire adult life. (I’m now 39.) In April 2017, I found out for certain that the man I love was seeing someone else ... & choosing her over me. And ... my “cheese slid off the cracker.”

I'm new: My case, what else can I do?
Now I have been in therapy for almost a year with a psychologist and a couple of months with a psychiatrist, taking pills for my ADHD and
dysthymia
, but nothing works. I have read a ton of books and articles, seen a lot of videos of important Doctors, tried to schedule my times, and nothing works.

Hello
I struggle with
dysthymia
(mild chronic depression) and anxiety. I am able to go to work during the week, but really struggle with unstructured time on the weekends. It can be an effort just to shave, shower, eat and get out the door.

What is Persistent Depressive Disorder?
Persistent Depressive Disorder: Also known as
dysthymia
, it is said to happen when a person suffers from major depressive disorder for a minimum period of two years. However, there are times, when the symptoms are mild, but the condition continues for at least a period of two years.

Dysthymia
? Bipolarity?) . I took several remedios and did therapy (suggested that it was just emotional immaturity). My first improvement in mood and disposition was with fluoxetine. But she left me more impulsive.

New to this. Not sure what to write.
I am a sufferer of
dysthymia
. I've been on medication for a few years but have never really tried talking about it. The medication helped level out my moods but never really took away the thoughts. I'm not suicidal or anything, just sad. Most days I'm ok.

Dysthymia / Major Depressive Disorder
I have been diagnosed with
dysthymia
- I’m just here because i wanted to feel like I’m not alone. I feel like I’ve had depression for a long time now and it feels like I’ll never get better to be honest.

I'm new
I was diagnosed with body dysmorphia,
dysthymia
(mild depression), and mild anxiety when I was 11 when I was hospitalized for attempted suicide. I went to therapy for about 5 months before moving to a different country.

Antidepressants initial impact
I have heard everything from
dysthymia
to dementia. Every time the pdoc has increased his antidepressant I have seen an improvement after about 2 weeks then it levels off. The new thinking is he has “Abulia”. A new drug, Vraylar, was added. The effect was fantastic, almost his old self in 10 days.

Anybody?
Does anyone else has
Dysthymia
? It’s a type of depression? How often does it affect you? How do you handle it from time to time?

Introduction - Mountain Boy, Denver, CO
Hi everyone, I have
Dysthymia
, which is chronic depression. It's not as severe as many other forms of depression, but it's long lasting and difficult to overcome. It feels like I cannot really enjoy anything, nothing satisfies me, and I'm constantly in a negative mood.

Mood disorder diagnosis
So my psychiatrist had diagnosed me with
dysthymia
, which is a kind of depression which is mild but last a long time (something like that) and anxiety. I was doing better on the lower dose of antidepressant so I thought maybe I could get off of it.

Hello, I have been finally diagnosed with
dysthymia
, cyclothymia. I have felt like there was something wrong for years. I just couldn't explain it. I started counceling in my teens. I'm now in my 50's. Several years ago I had a bout with major depression. That put me in a hospital for 6 days.

So Here it goes. First time posting.
My pcp did as much as she can before referring me out to a psychiatrist which began in November and diagnosed me with
dysthymia
. We went through several different regimens of medication before finding one that is currently working. On three different medications.

Thyroid Antibodies and Mental Illness
That said, looking back at my life, I'm turning 27 next month, I've had endocrine problems, along with my share of anxiety and low-grade depression (
dysthymia
) as far back as I can remember.
