Excruciating gas pain
Ive posted lots in the past year regarding my ibs-d* that was intermittent after antibiotics one year ago. I've suffered for 12 months straight jumping from ibs d* to c* but must confess have mostly been regular and normal since Feb. I also haven't taken an Imodium in over 3 months. For some reason why

GOOD HYDRATION
When we run we stress our bodies. While a bit of controlled stress is good for our development, one of the surest ways to stress just about every part of our bodies in a negative way is to run in a poorly hydrated condition. We are made of up to 60% water. Our brains and heart are composed of 73% water

IBS-D remedies
Hi everyone, has anyone got any good advice for managing IBS-d. I have got somewhere when I was on symprove and took an Imodium on a weekly basis. I’m looking for any other remedies as my flare ups happen for no reason. I’ll be eating something I’m completely fine with before and I will be bad :( thanks

Any PD Patients Reluctant to Visit Clinic?
Is anyone else having a problem trying to convince their dialysis clinic -- with State and County shelter-in-place orders -- that coming into the clinic, with hemodialysis patients present (some of which have been diagnosed with covid-19) is something you would like to put off for at least a month of

What other treatments are left?
My SO is 83 year old. He was diagnosed with PC stage 4 in October 2018 with a PSA of 947 and Gleason 8. He first tried Zytiga which worked for 4 months, then he was on chemo for 5 sessions. He developed a bad case of lymphedema and had to quit chemo. He is now on Radium 223 and Provenge. Just finished

How I overcame IBS-D
Dear all, I periodically post this advice to help new-comers to the subject. I consider myself a recovered IBS-sufferer and so like to share what I learned. I hope that you are keeping sane during the lockdown! This is my general approach to help people understand and repair their gastro-intestinal

Chest/back pain with breathlessness. Any leads please?
Hello. I was at work in Jan, sitting at a computer and I had a sharp pain in my chest and breathlessness and felt hot and sweaty. It calmed down quite quickly. I went to the gp and they prescribed gtn just in case, pending an xray, ecg. Ecg was normal. Xray showed slight enlargement of heart. An echocardiogram

Angina, always normal cholesterol - hereditary
Diagnosed with heart disease in January and after initial denial and shock now trying to answer questions. I have read that 25% of people with heart disease have no aggravating lifestyle choices and I count myself in that group. Docs have put me on statin, GTN and Monomil and I can now walk the 1/2 mile

Angiotensin antihypertensives and COVID-19: No clear added risk nor protection.
Yesterday in a reply I raised the possibility of whether angiotensin-related anti-hypertensive drugs, ACE inhibitors or ARBs would have any protective effect on COVID-19 infectivity, having heard that the virus uses "ACE2" as a receptor. The current NEJM issue has an article summarizing this complex

RE- Hand Sanitiser
I have made up my own sanitiser after reading the advice from WHO. Use Isopropyl alcohol or 150% proof Grain Alcohol. Then fill 70% of a pump bottle with the alcohol, then few drops of glycerine for moisturiser or aloe vera and maybe tea tree for fragrance then top up with water. I couldn't get glycerine

Angina or not?
Hi, I'm a 61 year old woman, type 2 diabetic but generally fit. I have no meds apart from aspirin. Over the past couple of months I have been having chest pain at rest for which I have been prescribed a GTN spray, which has helped. Yesterday I had a cat scan which showed my coronary arteries to be

Period d*?
I was once a regular poster here since taking 2 antibiotics back in May 2019. Finally, after almost a year, I think I'm on the edge of being out of the woods. The last imodium I took was 10 weeks ago and in comparison to how much I took its outstanding. I think low stress has been the main thing that's

How to get cell counts back to normal after Radium 223 (Xofigo) first dose?
Since my Dad had his first dose of Radium 223 (Xofigo), a few months ago now, his cell counts; Neutrophils, white blood cells, Heamoglobin and platelets have decreased. There was mention of a blood transfusion but I don't think it is necessary yet. He obviously can't continue with his treatment until
