Hi Tapanac. My BNP was also found to be raised about the same as yours. The lab referred me straight to Cardiology where I had tests done and then saw a cardiologist same day. I am in permanent AF CKD and high BP. He told me that most people in AF can have a raised BNP due to the nature of the disease. I was diagnosed with mild heart failure, my medication dosages were adjusted and a diuretic added and it would appear I am no longer am in heart failure at this time. Hope this helps.
My story.: Hi Tapanac. My BNP was also... - Atrial Fibrillati...

Hi Florence.
Thanks for sharing. You wrote....

Thats great news. Heart failure sound like a death sentence to newbies - it's not. It's an incorrect term in my opinion. It simply means your heart is not working as effectively as it should do. This can often be kept under control with the right meds.

thank you. I am on bisoprolol flecainide apixabsn and Co-smilofruse (diuretic) although my EP said I could stop the flecainide as I’m in permanent afib and no point in taking it. I did stop for a month, but felt awful so restarted. Then after a while I weaned off it as stopped suddenly before and back to not feeling great so started again
The letter I received from cardiologist said the high BNP was no doubt due to my impaired kidney function and permanent afib
However I was taken into hospital last week with appendicitis snd had a few ECGs and they said I had flutter?!?!? So permanent afib???
Confusing eh!
Thank you for replying to me
