Dear all, thank you in advance for this. Any insights appreciated. I have been on levo (5omg) for 5 weeks and will be tested after 6 weeks. However, I have been tested regularly for other things and they have thrown in basic thyroid tests each time, plus I contacted old GP from the first half of this

Increase in GFR after major diet change
I went to University of Michigan at Ann Arbor on Wednesday. Had a complete blood workup. On July 25 I started following "Stopping Kidney Disease" by Lee Hull. After 5 weeks I had lost 8 lbs (BMI < 19) so I had to modify diet. I went to pure vegan meaning I was having beans, lentils and other plant

Intestinal noise
My hellish year with ibs is slowlllly starting to get a bit better by a very volatile but 'dry' diet. I have been taking one imodium a week at 8am which amazingly, along with small amounts of veg and fruit and most carbs has made me very comfortable. Its only after a week my intestines seem to go back

New here. No diagnosis.
Hi all. Thanks for having me - I feel totally alone and have nobody to talk to. My very first symptom was a sore/stiff shoulder with no cause. (Though I experienced sore wrists 4 months prior to that. I thought maybe carpal tunnel at the time.) That was about 6 months ago. It escalated quickly to fully

Osteo Arthritis and bakers cyst
Zapain wipe me out completely, perfect at bed time but would normal paracetamol be ok during the day? I’m trying hard to not take diclofenac or naproxen because of side effects. Already tired because of under active thyroid 😩

Strange nocturnal pain
Hi guys, in may this year I started having pain in my lower back and sort of down the front of my legs. It was a hot burning pain that only happened at night, I was at centre parcs when it started and had to take paracetamol and diclofenac for pain relief but was unable to lie down or sit as the pain

GFR dropping fast!
Hello. I'm a 58 year old woman diagnosed with CKD about 5 years ago. During the last few years I stayed pretty much at stage 3. I had a great nephrologist, then I moved to another state. Admittedly the move hasn't been great and I have gained 7 lbs! But most concerning is my GFR, since June, has dropped

I posted last week about my husband’s diarrhoea well when we saw the doc it had calmed down a bit and he said he could prescribe Imodium but was concerned that he then became constipated which was worse for him. Well it ramped up again he has been in tears with the pain he has haemorrhage as well so

Sudden daily wetting during school
My 7 year old son has had problems with chronic constipation since the age of 2. He has been on movicol throughout that time and more recently supplemented with sodium picosulphate. He sits on the loo after breakfast and after dinner and at present is free of soiling accidents and does a poo most days

I'm 48 today! Why this is a sign of Birthday ' Brain Fog' and is this just another unwelcome gift of GCA/PMR?
I know we don't usually discuss our birthdays on the Forum but I thought this milestone in my Life might be worth mentioning to All you understanding folks because you may be victims of Birthday " Brain Fog" too. So , I'm 48 , why is this significant? Well , if any of you have read my posts or replies

IBS what can u get on prescription?
Hi I'm on universal credit and entitled to free prescription. I have recently been diagnosed with IBS and my doctor not very forth coming. I currently buy galvascon, buscopan, imodium instants and imodium plus. Which is costing me a fair chunk out of my universal credit each month. Can anyone advise

Indapamide
I have recently had blood test which showed very low potassium and high sodium. My GP says can't give me supplements and has stopped Indapamide for a month. (no alternative diuretic given). I had aortic valve replacement January 2018 and am also hypertensive. My Ramipril was reduced post op and also

Bad weekend
So it’s been a bit of a crap weekend here - no pun intended. I went out with friends on Friday night and had an attack before I went - 3/4 loose and urgent BM. Saturday morning I had to go out so I took two Imodium as a precaution in case I needed the toilet. All was fine. Today I’ve been doubled up

Dental problems
Hi all! Well, I hope everyone is on the mend of some sort. Does anyone who wears dentures have problems consuming foods that require chewing? My gums have bone loss and can’t chew hard foods like salads apples and the likes. I’ve had to smash meats and veggies. Drink smoothies with protein and berries

Anyone know anything about Excel Diagnostics in Houston?
We visited with nuclear medicine yesterday and instead of doing radium 223 at this time she referred us to Excel Diagnostics for possible trials. In the meantime we have emailed Technical University in Munich about My 177 treatments and the place in Houston about trials. also scheduled for, you guessed
