A diary of (hopefully) achieving a diagnosis
Also pushed on to try by a family situation involving my brother where his concerns were dismissed about his own health and he is now in sudden end stage kidney failure and on
dialysis
awaiting transplant.

Kidney dialysis with a stent
Does anyone know why you can't have kidney
dialysis
when you've had a stent. Asking as this is my dad's current situation. Unfortunately I'm not allowed to go with my dad to ask any questions but my dad doesn't take it in when he's given info.

Should I do only kidney or pancreas as well?
I am type 2 diabetic and not on
dialysis
yet. I was not aware if my transplant doctor would list me for pancreas. I am not sure if I should go for pancreas transplant or keep only kidney. Having both increases risk? Any advise? Am 51 year old male.

Bio-artificial kidney
It's supposed to replace
dialysis
and even kidney transplant. I know the concept has been around for a few years now and didn't get anywhere for various reasons, but it seems like they've made great progress recently...

Acute kidney injury , worried!!
He is on
dialysis
and plasma exchange. Doctors are saying the kidney injury is reversible but will take time. Anyone can throw some light on what to expect as I'm extremely worried for my brother.

Tap water PD solution pilot study information
Another person with Stage V CKD but not yet on
dialysis
shared this link with me. I thought I’d pass it along to the group. I’ve been watching the research focused on the development of a tap water PD
dialysis
solution delivery system for a few years.

Anxiety Fear of Time and Death
I guess thinking of my mom being sick (she is in
dialysis
) and the future scares me. The realization that bad times may come, and the fact that I am almost 24 and I have no partner or kids makes me feel defeated when I look at others.

Discussion: Vascular Calcification / bone disorder in CKD
But uremia is tolerated and just goes up and up until you hit the point where the patent side effects of uremia become unbearable/dangerous and you are put on
dialysis
. But what about the latent work of uremia.

Staying on the Path
The reality of kidney transplant or
dialysis
is more unappealing than the temporary taste of blueberry pie that only causes me more damage. These groups, in my opinion, are to helps us support others as we are on the same journey.

Non covid respiratory failure *update*
His kidneys failed and he needed
dialysis
. At the beginning of last week totally out of the blue his lungs began to start working a lot better, so much so he was at a safe level to have a trachea fitted. His kidneys are OK now and he no longer requires the
dialysis
machine.
