High creatinine and cholesterol
Hi guys me again. My last thyroid test results seem to be pretty good but I'd appreciate any feedback about my other test results. My cholesterol was high and also creatinine very high. I did read that this can be linked to Hypo and after medication should return to normal. I've been on 150mcg for about

How I beat Parkinson’s
My T cell lymphoma. PTCL is potentially curable with chemotherapy. The median progression free survival (PFS) following CHOP chemotherapy is 12 to 14 months. Approximately 20 to 30% of patients will be alive, and disease free, 5 years after the completion of treatment.

My doctor is STUPID, STUPID, STUPID !!!
I sent a message to him describing how I had to split the 1500 mg of gabapentin I take at night into 3 doses and said I wanted to SWITCH to pregabalin. I said since they didn't make a 250 mg capsule I needed 2 prescriptions, one for 225 mg and one for 25 mg. He wrote back he was confused. Did I want

Metformin for Parkinson’s?
A while ago a doctor offered to prescribe metformin for me for PD. I have just started researching this as a possible alternative to other diabetes drugs. Are any of you taking it for PD off label or for Diabetes? Thank you

Hi had anyone here suffered from failed rectocele/cystocele surgery? I had both repaired in 2018 but feel that I am back to square one, the physio says that I have some nerve damage to the pelvic floor and the exercises aren’t really working. I have a pessary but to it out to clean it and now can’t get

Ferritin/Folacin confusion
Latest blood test results. Ferritin 155ug//L (Range 13 - 150) Folate 7.4 ug/L (Range over 2.9) I take Folacin 400 ug but is this Folate or Ferritin or neither? Feeling totally dumb so would be grateful for any words of wisdom from the good members here. Thank you.

How much reduction in absorption of gabapentin is there if one takes more than 600 mg?
I have been taking 1400 mg gabapentin divided into 700 mg at 7:15 and 700 mg at 9:15, going to bed at 10:15. I increased this to 1500 mg on July 5th, with 700 mg at 7:15 and 800 mg at 9:15, but last night had restless legs. I know I should switch to pregabalin but it is expensive. I know that in taking

Gene Therapy Success With Ties to Parkinson’s Disease
I posted this as a reply to Bass of Spade's optimistic post regarding gene therapy, but I think it's worthy of being the subject of a separate post. Gene Therapy Offers Long-Awaited Hope for Children with Rare, Incurable Disorder. Patients with Parkinson’s, Alzheimer’s May Benefit from Novel Treatment

Summary of downsides of alcohol consumption
As there have been numerous posts and discussions about the link between arrhythmia and alcohol, I thought this might be interesting. The info comes from an article in the July 18 Sunday Times Magazine which you may be able to read online if you sign up for the weekly free article. I read it in the physical

Exenatide : any non diabetic users? Update from those using for diabetes with PD?
I was just prescribed Exenatide by my neurologist. He has faith in the Exenatide trial and has prescribed it to other patients as well. I’m slim with low blood sugar. Can those who are not diabetic but taking Exenatide please share their experience and knowledge? And any info from those taking it

Over-the-counter protein supplement resulting in impaired thyroxine absorption in a hypothyroid patient
There are so many products - foods and supplements - very often heavily promoted or "fashionable", about which we do not know enough. This example should not be a surprise as it is known that dairy can interfere with levothyroxine. Nonetheless good to see it being reported. [i]Endocrinol Diabetes

Eating Fruits when you have Diabetes
I came across a very recent article on "How many servings of fruits a day can lower risk of type 2 diabetes?" written by Lakshita Jain, certified clinical dietician and a lecturer. The link is given at the bottom of the post. While it was in my mind to make an exclusive post on fruits, but this article

Scared and confused by possible neuropathy
Back in February of this year I slipped on ice and fell off my porch. Shortly after I experienced a radiating pain in my left butt cheek area that comes and goes throughout the day. My neck also hurt after the fall but felt better the day after so I didn't see a doctor about it, My doctor said it sounds
