Hello troops

The enemy won last night time and time again the left flank was breached

It wasn’t until 3.30 to 4am that we could stand down for some R&R

Disheartened and exhausted but will live to fight another day

Tonight I will bring in troops from the rear guard and right flank

( I have a gel filled bag that can be heatedly in the microwave and placed on the offending leg also as back up I will resort to my tens machine. I have had it for many years and used in the past with mixed results but maybe it’s time to give it another outing )

Any other reinforcements will be welcomed in tonight’s battle.

It certainly does feel like a nightly battle. Like you I pace at stupid o'clock. I'm now so familiar with my neighbours nightly routines if there is a light on when there usually isn't my anxiety kicks in and I worry if they are ok?

For me I just end up asking myself what can I control in this? I'm sure, like me and others, you've tried most things to solve it and then you feel so helpless. Each enthusiastic attempt seemingly slapping you in the face in the early hours. The problem with feeling helpless is it can progress into feeling hopeless and that's not a good place to be heading.

I have an incredibly organised enemy to battle each night, left leg, right leg, left arm, torso into heart area, retreat or repeat. I've started to use the f**k it approach because I'm just so damned sick of being pushed around by this nightime bully. Yes of course I wander about but the best intervention I've found strangely is a parenting skill, distract and redirect.

Whilst pacing I refuse to give the thing further attention, it sure gets enough. I make myself focus on something else so I try to learn something new. I'm pretty useless at remebering things so currently I'm working on leaning all capital cities for each country in the world, I'm sure you get my drift. It's not changed anything but somehow I just don't feel so cheated and it's no longer a complete deficit of my flipping time.

I'm not feeling this is the answer you want but I've lived with this since I was 12 and I'm 54 now. I use the brilliant advice on this site and try anything new that comes up. I see my restless as a nightime idiot I've no choice but to tolerate. Might just aswell try and claw something back whilst suffering the persistent, nightcrawling fool.

Wholeheartedly wishing you all the best and please don't judge my terrible geographical knowledgeable!

Keep fighting the good fight Hoochybaby.

I know it's a cliche, but you still appear to have a sense of humour.

Hope yo have better luck tonight.u
