Type 2 Diabetes in 13 year old

Hi, my nephew was 13 year old when he got diagnosed with Type 2 diabetes. We are trying to manage it through diet and exercise (physical activity - playing cricket every day) and no allopathy medicines, only homeopathy medicines.

Still sometimes his sugar levels spike like once in 3-4 months. We keep monitoring his sugar levels everyday fasting and after meals. We believe that he has got diagnosed with diabetes due to his weight and puberty as his parents and no grandparents have diabetes history.

Is anyone aware about this kind of diabetes like type 2 diabetes because of puberty ?

Can this be cured permanently without medicines or managed through lifestyle changes ? Will this go away after some years like when he is 18-20 years of age?

Can anyone throw some light on this ?

Preety, this site is for much older people impacted by CLL (chronic lymphocytic leukaemia). Its remit is not primarily diabetes and certainly not in children which is a much more specialist area.

You need the services of an endocrinologist to clinically guide your 13 yr old nephew. Sounds like he’s already being assisted to do the right things in exercising and moderating his carbohydrate intake.

Sorry we cannot assist you on here.

As Newdawn says this forum is related to CLLsupport, a blood cancer. There are two diabetes related forum's on HU. Maybe one of these would be a better place to ask.
