The effects of alcohol...
An interesting article I read regarding alcohol and calories: Does alcohol turn to sugar in your body? It’s a frequent question that seems widely accepted as truth. But is it? Sugar and carbohydrate-rich foods raise your blood glucose level, while alcohol actually has the opposite effect — it makes

Mechanism of action of metformin, most widely used anti hyperglycaemic drug.
Metformin is a hypoglycemic drug effective in the treatment of non-insulin-dependent diabetes mellitus and increasingly used in Canada and Europe. Effects on intestinal glucose absorption, insulin secretion, and hepatic glucose production are insufficient to explain its hypoglycemic action, with most

Gut or intestinal bacteria and diabetes type 2.
Presence of certain bacteria in the gut may be linked to development of type 2 diabetes. Type2 diabetes is a serious metabolic disorder. The disease causes the body cells to lose their ability to respond to insulin, hormone that controls glucose uptake. This leads to , even with adequate insulin,a high

Carbohydrate.
On dietary carbohydrate requirement. The body DOES require some glucose, primarily red blood cells which have no mitochondria. However, if you took in no carbohydrate WHATSOEVER, you would still have all the carbohydrate requirement needed and your blood sugar would be normal. What, why, how? Outrageous

New study below [1]. A large study, involving 10 countries & 22,249 cases. "We found weak evidence that higher LDL and {triglyceride} levels increase aggressive prostate cancer risk, and that a variant in HMGCR (that mimics the LDL lowering effect of statin drugs) reduces risk." "Weak evidence" but
