ADT Holiday Unexpected Consequences
After stopping Lupron and then, 5 months later abiraterone/
dexamethasone
, I began to experience what I believe to be arthritis joint pains. Not only in my hips (previously diagnosed with degenerative osteoarthritis) but other joints as well.

Trying To Understand Diagnosis
But from tomorrow that changes to 2mg
Dexamethasone
daily (which her cancer nurse told me is equivalent to 12mg Prednisolone). Naturally she is also worried about side effects from this, having already experienced insomnia pretty rapidly from even a short course of Prednisalone.

I'm on
Dexamethasone
as part of this chemotherapy treatment and was wondering if anyone else is taking these? Does anyone have any tips on how best to take this? I take them with food but it doesn't make much difference.

Switch of corticosteroids from prednisone to dexamethasone
I understand a switch of corticosteroids from prednisone to
dexamethasone
to halt or slow growth, which happens in a majority of cases, is particularly beneficial to those with lower PSA at the switch, and give longer mCRPC -free survival.

Paclitaxel Acute Pain Syndrome
It was up in the day Saturday when I finally got some Gabapentin and
dexamethasone
. I am now pain free just week as a kitten. Scott did the research and found out about the pain syndrome. It is apparently not terribly uncommon. Be on the lookout.

Proposed Increase in Dexamethasone Dosage for a Brain Tumour
I'm currently on four 2 mg tablets per day, they are planning to increase this to aid my walking and mobility . What are the likely impacts/short or long term & what is the maximum dose? Should I go for the increased dose? Any comments/advise would be very welcome

Covid-Induced ITP Recovery Questions
All these weeks later (October now), I've discovered I'm steroid resistant (
dexamethasone
and prednisone seemingly did nothing for me), and promacta (which I've been on for over a month) doesn't seem to be doing anything noticeable for my counts.

psa and scans after switch to dexamethasone and sbrt
The switch from zytiga and prednisone to zytiga and
dexamethasone
started the psa decrease (11+ to.36) with sbrt to the one tumor a month later leading to drops below .1 I have posted and asked for information when trends were unfavorable and appreciated the support so much.

Recommended lubricant drops
I'm 2 weeks post trabeculectomy, currently on
dexamethasone
2 hourly and chloromphenical 4x/day. Last weekend I had some grittiness in the eye (irritation from the stitch). All sorted now - surgeon trimmed the stitch at last appointment.

Interesting post from another site.
Prednisolone is approximately four times more potent than cortisol but only one seventh as potent as
dexamethasone
. Prednisone appears to be well absorbed and converted to active drug, prednisolone. © prednisone: tried by 1561 members

Question regarding dexamethasone eye drops
I wonder if someone can help me, I’ve just had cataract surgery last Thursday, all is well but I’m just wondering if
dexamethasone
eye drops 6 x daily for 2 weeks and then 4 x daily for another 4 weeks will affect my prednisolone intake, I’m taking 5mg and having headaches, I’m due to see the rheumatologist

Steroids help low responders ( success story)
Just to be clear-
dexamethasone
is much stronger than prednisone so 0.5 mg of
dexamethasone
corresponds to 20mg of prednisone ( so this was quite strong dose of steroids).. I took it during the stimulation and 2WW.

Next Move
My first thought is to switch to
dexamethasone
from prednisone and see if I can extend the Zytiga's effectiveness for a little while longer. Next thought was Xofigo due to having just bone mets at this time. Provenge a maybe, but haven't heard of great results from this group.

Steroid use in Glioblastoma Battle
However, I spoke to the GP and we upped his
Dexamethasone
dose from 4mg to 6mg a day and it was like a new man had appeared. He is out of bed for 7 hours a day now, has taken quite a few steps with the zimmer and is talking more and wants to try and use a toilet again.
