Dexamethasone

What is the equivalent of 10 mg Prednisone if it gets replaced with Dexamethasone. My Dad has been for 3.5 years on Abiraterone and Prednisone (10 mg daily). We are trying to see if replacing Prednisone with Dexamethasone would help, but the oncologist prescribed only 0.5 mg Dexamethasone.

I am currently on Prednisolone, so will ask if I can change to Dexamethasone.

I am using a natural toothpaste, as suggested by my dental expert and I’ve dried Dexamethasone rinse which hasn’t really helped as well as a salve for sores. Does anyone have any success stories or suggestions for treatment? It would be most appreciated.

I was put on dexamethasone and had a temporal artery biopsy which was negative. I also had many immunity tests done. I also had irisitis with eye drops given in 2/24. I saw a rheumatologist in 5/24. I was diagnosed with GCA with a PMR overlap.

I read that when zytiga and deltacortene fail, replacing deltacortene with dexamethasone allows zytiga to continue to be effective. I have been interested in prostate cancer for many years but I had never heard of this and I must admit that it surprised me a lot.

Reading the systematic review of switch to dexamethasone suggests to me it's worth a try. MO is resisting, quoting possible side effects of edema, fatigue, hypertension etc (husband is frail).

My Dads new oncologist switched his steroid from prednisolone to dexamethasone - she was distressed at first appointment to see he was on zytiga and prednisolone. She said research pretty clear that dexamethasone is better. On today's PSA results she is clearly correct.

Also taking a low dose of dexamethasone. His medical team has been fantastic and we are carrying on as best we can. But he has a constant headache which he cannot shift. Any advice would be welcomed.

Hi All, I was recently taking Dexamethasone and have started a new medication called Belzutifan. I have stopped from Tuesday 19th November 2024.

My treatment includes (approx) 20mg of dexamethasone two days a week (the day of and day after the chemo); I’ll find out the exact dose tomorrow. My Haematologist has told me to omit my PMR-related dose of prednisolone (currently 9mg) on the two days but continue as normal on other days.

I am switching from prednisone to dexamethasone right away. Getting new scans in January to compare to the old ones. May switch to Xtandi. I asked about going on Enza for a couple months, doing docataxel and then resuming Enza, but she said that may not be allowed in our medical system(BC, Canada).

I suggested switching steroid to Dexamethasone or changing prednisone from once a day to twice a day but was met with a lets wait and see. Am I being too impatient?

Should we try to replace Prednisone with Dexamethasone? Switch to Xtandi? Or chemo? Anybody else had these kind of MRI readings and can explain what all are? Any help and suggestions are greatly appreciated. Thank you so much.

My only concern is if there's any risk to my eyes wearing contact lenses after having regurgitation of fluid and if I am taking a course of dexamethasone eye drops. If anyone has any advice, that would be amazing and much appreciated - I'm feeling very stuck!

hello Does anyone know if we need to use a PPI or H2 blocker alongside using steroids? Do you not? I take my 4Mg dex with my cereal which is bran flakes and milk..

Not sure it's a side effect of dexamethasone or due to the impact of retinal detachment surgery itself. So far I tried the following without results: 1. Stopped dexamethasone for a week after the retinal team were happy with the progress. 2.

If it climbs he will stop prednisone and switch to dexamethasone. After that he will work with my Uro and start BAT. He floated some clinical trials for me to think about but the trial we discussed had three arms and it was random.

This time he's getting dexamethasone, which he didn't last time. Does that replace Neulasta, which he did get at the time of infusion? He's going to ask about that. Mr. Spouse was 75 at the end of his first 10 infusions which resulted in 4 years of stability.
