Breathing and coughing excercises
I've noticed in a lot of responses to questions that people recommend carrying on with their breathing and coughing excercises following open heart surgery. I wasn't given any after my surgery and am wondering what these excercises consist of as I still have breathing problems following my valve replacement

Irregular heartbeat after AF episode
Last night my OH had his second AF episode, first one was about 22months ago for which he was hospitalised. Since then he has been on Bisoprolol 1,25mg once daily and Apixaban 5mg twice daily. He was told if he had another episode to take “pill in pocket” once, which is a 5mg dose of Bisoprolol. This

Little boy with a serious heart condition needs help. Please read..
Thanks for taking a second to look at this for me. I'm currently 7 years old and have a serious heart condition, called a double inlet left ventricle. It means my heart doesn't have enough pumps and Chambers to function how it should. My condition is life threatening and life limiting, and will result

I have a kin interest in learning from anecdotal experiences.
Hi everyone, I read with interest many of the posts about AF that are similar to my issues and that is seems food is a trigger but mort interestingly I think chemicals in the food. I stopped all alcohol that didn’t seem to help. I eat organic and non GMO exclusively but when I eat at certain restaurants

Long term medication effects
Hi all. Perhaps one or two of you out there are able to advise from your own experiences. I had a quadruple heart bypass in December last year, so I'm now almost six months post-op. As does everybody who goes through this situation, I have been put on medication, as prescribed by my cardiologist. Just

The blanking period after ablation
I didn't think it was possible to hate AF more than I did before the ablation. Constantly waking up in the middle of the night and not being able to get a decent night's sleep. It wasn't always like this but it has been getting worse - probably 5-6 times a week. And then an ablation is offered - light

We are so very nearly there! (C section booked for next week) Then our new challenge begins - trying so hard to be hopeful! 🤞🙏💙
Just a little update from me for anyone still following our (very long) journey so far! We have been TTC for 8 years now. 6 fresh cycles, 7 transfers & multiple losses later and we are finally booked to have a c section next week. I cannot quite believe it. It is a time of total mixed emotions right

Buzzing!!
OMG OMG! I've just completed W5R2 - two 8 min runs. I am absolutely buzzing!! This time last year, I was still recovering from a double heart bypass after having had a completely unexpected heart attack in Dec 20. And now I'm running and, more importantly, enjoying it! I did have a small emotional moment

Low heartrate - Bradycardia
Low heart rate - Bradycardia I had heart surgery twice for an Ascending Thoracic Aortic Aneurysm in April 2019 twice and spent a month in hospital. I had bouts of Afib during my stay and was put on Amiodarone for around 4 months this was later changed to a small dose of Bisoprolol - 1.25 mg per day

Brain surgeon interview:
I am so enjoying this interview that I’m sharing it despite it not being PD specific. He has bettered my understanding of the brain in general, given me hope because neuro plasticity is proven, discussed the real power of breathing and meditation and at about 50 minutes he touches on DBS. He has a

Oh My God 😯 Three dazed and confused Cardiologists.
Some not so junior heart specialists just admitted they don't know what to do with me. An angiogram showed a narrowing of the Lateral Anterior Descending coronary artery that's near two smaller branches. I've unsucessfully tried three vasodialating medications but can't tolerate them due to constant
