The link between bradycardia and hypothyroidism

I had a successful Cardioversion via my previous surgery/private cardiologist some months ago but have been struggling in the last couple of months with bradycardia (bpm low 50’s ) ache across chest and episodes of falling asleep when I don’t feel especially tired (could this be syncope?) Im aware of link with thyroid but my TSH is nicely low on last test.

The symptoms are worst on waking when it feels like AFib without the erratic heartbeat.

I am increasing my liquid intake in case dehydration is a factor but any other advice appreciated. I contacted my new surgery for appointment and was seen by a nurse (I have never been in front of a doctor since I moved here 10 months ago) She said that my bpm was ok and no further action needed (age discrimination?). I live an otherwise active life - lots of walking/table tennis/house maintenance/gardening etc - but only after I’ve ‘recovered’ each morning by being ‘up and about’ .

My main worry is the possibility of having heart failure during sleep. Am I over-egging the risk?

Your TSH might be nice and low, but that doesn't automatically mean that your Frees are in the right place. Could be you're under-medicated despite the TSH.

Oh I didn’t realise that! I didn’t mention in my post that I feel very very cold most the time - I keep looking at my indoor thermometer as it feels more like it’s in the 50’s rather than 70’s. I’m still wearing winter woolies! As I surmised my Thyroid results were ‘ok’ I thought it was simply a matter of ‘cold bones’ 🥶

Nah, I don't really think 'cold bones' is a thing. You need complete thyroid testing. Doctors are so dumb they don't realise that just testing TSH doesn't really tell them much at all, their patients could still be under-medicated even if the TSH is in-range. What was your TSH, by the way?

When were vitamin D, folate, ferritin and B12 last tested

What supplements are you currently taking

Are you vegetarian or vegan?

Attaching full test results. I’ve decreased B12 as a result of result. I am not vegetarian but do eat some vegetarian meals as part of my diet. I very rarely eat red meat - perhaps in Bolognaise

Vitamins look good

You might consider getting full iron panel test every couple of years

Inflammation can cause high ferritin…..but it’s possible to have low iron with high ferritin (and vice versa)
