Deep Brain Stimulation (
DBS
) seems to be most effective for younger people with tremors. Dopamine Agonists, marijuana, “natural remedies”, and special diets each have their passionate followers.

Deep Brain Stimulation
Months ago, I underwent
DBS
surgery, Deep Brain Stimulation at Barrows Neurological Institute, Dr. Francisco Ponce.
DBS
delivers minute electrical stimulation to specific areas of the brain via a surgical implant similar to a heart pacemaker.

I already have had
dbs
surgery so I figure at least I could keep some appliances running during a power outage with my internal batteries. I await your responses. Thanks in advance.

One week in Gabapentin
Thanks to all of you who took the time to share their experiences with Gabapentin with me 😊 I've been taking it for a week now in conjunction with norflex. I wasn't in a hurry to get my dose up to the prescribed 3x3 daily so I kept it at 3x1 per day for almost the last week, increasing to 2 at night

DBS Off vs DBS On - Deep Brain Stimulation
Hi all This video shows the effect that Deep Brain Stimulation (
DBS
) has upon my Parkinson's Disease symptoms. I perform a number of tasks with
DBS
switched off, and then repeat them with
DBS
switched on - the difference is amazing! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=D0Hlo_5nDX4 Cheers, Ian

Hi I am new
I have Parkinsons desease since 1996 (at the age of 32), I had
DBS
in 2013 which resulted in a drama. I wonder if anybody knows if there is a trouble shooting clinic in Europe for people like me? It's very expensive to go to the United States . I live in the Netherlands.

DBS Surgery
I am considering the
DBS
surgery, as I am now taking 8 (25/100) Sinemet and 1 (50/200) Extended Release Sinemet each day. I live alone and wonder if that would be a problem. Would love to hear from folks that have had this surgery. Thanks!

DBS DOESN'T SEEM TO WORK
He was sent for discussion re:
DBS
4 years ago, finally it was approved and bilateral surgery done a month ago. The generator was implanted 12 days after the first surgery, and he was turned on the next day. His levodopa/carbidopa dosage was kept the same, every two hours.

Gait freezing
My husband had
DBS
done for the freezing problem. The dr who operated on him said that it has to be programmed different way, not as for dyskenesia. But unfortunately the dr who is doing his programming now is not familiar with it. Has anyone had
DBS
done for same reason and had good luck with it.

Take my pain away, P-L-E-A-S-E!!!!
I am fine, with some little frustration but I really would like the government to have funding for
DBS
which would take my hemiplegic pain away!! From my hair of my head to the toes of the foot on my right sided of my body, the pain I have is intolerable!!

My introduction...
I had Deep Brain Stimulation surgery in April last year at the National Hospital for Neurology and Neurosurgery in London, and have a
DBS
recovery blog, which I still add to on a daily basis, which may be of interest to anyone going down that route - dbsacompletenobrainer.co.uk.

I'm a 68 yr. old male and I was diagnosed in 2006 and am presently awaiting
DBS
. I also have sciatic nerve problems that will not let up. My family Dr. tells me that
DBS
could take care of the sciatic problem, do anyone know this for sure?
