Glicazide
Has anybody takin glicazide and found it very unhelpful? I found it lowers my blood sugars too low, so I have stopped taking it, I still take metformin and my sugars have been within normal range.

Referred to gynaecologist
I’ve been referred to a nhs gynaecologist, I really don’t know what to expect at my appointment. I am already on metformin. I take the pill to induce periods as I haven’t had a natural one for years. My main symptom is no natural period and I had cysts in my ovaries when I got diagnosed 4 years ago.

Blood sugar testing
Hi I'm type 2 diabetic and I currently manage this by taking metformin 3 times per day weight each meal. I am concerned that I never know what my blood sugar readings are and asked my gp if I could have a test kit however was told I didn't need one. Does anyone test theirs and if so what type of monitor

Metformin for insulin resistance
I have insulin resistance. I'm constantly hungry no matter what I eat. I'm overweight and on the pathway for bariatric surgery. To get the surgery I need to lose some weight mainly to demonstrate I'm committed. It's almost impossible to loose weight while feeling this hungry. I get shakey and struggle

Allergic to meds?
I haven’t posted in a while, but I have had new symptoms and issues that I am curious as to whether others have experienced. Quick background, all autoimmune tests negative, blood sugars in control, no Lyme disease or myasthenia Gravis, yet I have had nerve pain for 16 months that is unexplainable.

About the recent insulin articles
There have been various articles and media stories about whether there is a correlation about pre diabetes insulin resistance and fibromyalgia. Also, whether the use of the drug metformin can treat fibromyalgia pain and give relief. The University of Texas study can be found here: https://journals.plos.org
