Metformin and clomid
I've just been prescribed metformin to take for 28 days and then clomid on day 2 - 6 of my period. I'm overweight and don't actually meet the criteria for it but it has been 7 years since trying so genuinely think she took pity on me. Has anyone had any success? I'm trying two cycles to see if I ovulate

Hello All, I am writing on behalf of my 89 year old mom who has been struggling with severe leg and back pain. Mom had Guillaune Barre Syndrome in 2009 resulting from the flu vaccine and both knee replacements prior to that. She is diabetic and otherwise cognitively fine. Her pain causes her syncope

When to take Metformin for maximum reduction of HbA1c?
I take metformin 850mg three times daily and no other anti-diabetic medicine. I have been taking it for some time without adverse effects and now, mainly because I am on prednisone, want to achieve maximum reduction of my HbA1c. When should I take the tablets to achieve this please?

Hot weather intolerance - pmr, Pred or old age?
In a previous life - pre PMR - I was a real sun worshipper, loving every moment I could spend outside no matter how hot. Mediterranean holidays in the mid 30s were the best days of my life. I now seemed to have turned into my Mother who used to complain it was ‘far too hot’ the minute the temperature

What could be causing weight gain when bloods are optimum?
Hi all, I'd really like to get some advice re my results. I have been on a long journey (26 years) and never been able to tolerate thyroxine. After investigation it was discovered my reverse T3 was high and likely caused by me having the DIO2 variant. About three years ago I went private and absolutely

Blood test timing when insulin dependent
I have been underactive ever since RAI over thirty years ago. Unfortunately, due to poor management of thyroxine dosage (consultant didn't know what he was doing and left me to GP) I gained a lot of weight which just wouldn't shift. So I was diagnosed with type 2 diabetes and was prescribed Metformin

Such a complicated journey...but essentially after successful spinal stenosis surgery in March,Ienjoyed a few weeks of good health and mobility. I continued Piqray and had to start metformin. In May, I began experiencing increasing pain in my right hp where the cancer is located. Scans were ordered

Decapeptyl SR and the side effects with other medications, which has caused such bad rib cage structure effects?
I have pectus carinatum/pigeon chest from when aged 10 left over from meningitis, I also have Juvenile Myoclonic Epilepsy, not a good mixture, as such have probably broken every rib in my already weakened chest? I was diagnosed with Prostate Cancer in 2022, but the Decapeptyl SR injections considerably

Development of metformin resistance in PCa cells after long-term treatment
I just came across this article that seems to suggest PC cells develop resistance to metformin after "long term use" which can be reversed by withholding metformin for 30 days: https://www.nature.com/articles/s41392-023-01516-2 Under the Results section: >Metformin resistance was suggested to be associated

Methionine restricted diet for recurring PSA and positive PMSA pet scan w/ 1 bone met
quick to the point. PSMA pet showed 1 L2 small met and some lymph activity. My PSA went from 2.01 to 2.9 in one month. after doing some research on diets and supplements . I found that the keto diet is extremely high in the amino acid methionine and I made it worse trying to reduce my blood pressure

Metformin during pregnancy
I heard this dilemma so much around metformin, whether or not to take it during pregnancy. Is someone has pcos and insulin resistance, will it be better to continue metformin after conceiving naturally? Does it have any side effects? No one gives a concrete answer to this. Advices much appreciated

Anyone know about Dr's or consultants prescribing metformin for endometriosis?
I recently got access to ALL my medical records from the consultants I had been referred to over the years and saw that in the past I had been prescribed metformin, altavita and amitryptaline at the same time by an endocrinologist. I presumed at the time it was for my underactive Thyroid and wasn't on

Then the Dr walks in , says ok let's look at labs , remarked all look good. Daughter goes on to say she's put on weight despite working out and

metformin & tsh level
does anybody have any experience with metformin lowering TSH level? I came upon a study that said it can lower tsh in hypo patients. My daughter has been on 500 mg metformin for years. Her tsh is always low and she has a ton of hypo symptoms. I have hashimotos and my gut tells me she is headed there.

NEW TABLET CHEMYDUR 60XL
I have started to self medicate and been given new tablets the ones above and included on the packet Isosorbida-5-mononitrate. It seems an important addition as I have had around 4 medical people phone me and asking about them and if I have any side affects taking them, I am only having half a tablet

Hello all, I'm new here. I was researching and came across this group. I'm asking for advice actually for my daughter. Here is the story. My daughter as a child was slightly overweight at age of puberty. When she was about 20, we went to a dr who ordered a thyroid US. Results multi nodules. No big concern
