I've just been prescribed metformin to take for 28 days and then clomid on day 2 - 6 of my period. I'm overweight and don't actually meet the criteria for it but it has been 7 years since trying so genuinely think she took pity on me. Has anyone had any success? I'm trying two cycles to see if I ovulate, if I don't then they won't try again until my weight is down (which is on it's way down).
Just hoping someone has a positive story to tell.

Hi. That’s great!women who are overweight, sometimes have an excess of insulin in their body cells unrelated to diabetes. Because of this, the pituitary and hypothalamus glands do not work properly together. Metformin helps to mop up this extra insulin, so the glands can get the message through to the ovary to get it to ovulate. Then you introduce Clomid, which should get ovulation to occur. All clever stuff. Keep chipping away at the weight loss, as it’s not all about medication. I truly wish you well. Diane
Hello! Not a success story but in the same boat story!
I’ve been on metformin for a couple months for PCOS (don’t have T2DM but high testosterone). Had to lose a significant amount of weight for fertility clinic referral and now bmi of 29. But my testosterone has come to within “normal levels” (albeit the high end) whether this is weight loss or metformin, I don’t know but it never has been in this range. Starting ovulation induction now with letrozole so hoping for the best as well!
