A bit about myself
Thanks for reading my message, sorry I've not replied to anyone so I'm writing a new post, I forget then don't know what to write, I think I'm just over 6 years since my accident and I got
craniotomy
and back of skull removed to get rid of a blood clot, first day I remembered was the day I got discharged

NHS just admitted it is unable to sort as is too complicated
The Endo, who is very sympathetic & helpful, is referring my daughter to a functional doc as she says the NHS will never sort this as it all stems from a
craniotomy
for a colloid cyst in the brain 2 1/2 years ago.

Is it safe to fly after craniotomy
Hi everyone, need your opinion if is it safe to fly after
craniotomy
for meningioma removal. I had my surgery 1/24/17 , stayed in ICU for 2 days and 3 days in the floor. I'm doing well, my doctor cleared me to fly after 2 weeks of surgery. We flying on feb 25, that's already 4 weeks after surgery.

Does Levothyroxine have any effect on the liver?
I had a
craniotomy
for colloid cyst with obstructive hydrocephalus in July 2014. It was a success, but since then I have been uncomfortably swollen, digestion has been difficult and I'm often still dizzy with what feels like pressure in the head.

Tertiary hypothyroidism suspected after a craniotomy for a colloid cyst on the third ventricle
I have a daughter who had a
craniotomy
for a colloid cyst in her brain two years ago, and since then has had health problems like weight gain, swelling, constipation, sore legs, fatigue etc. We think it is tertiary hypothyroidism, and the endos are putting her on thyroxine.

I'm a new member
The cancer also spread to my brain in 2008, and I was treated with a
craniotomy
and five targeted dosages of intensity modulated radiotherapy (IMRT). I've been taking Herceptin and my cancer has been stable for awhile. I'm also a member of the HER2 Support Group message board.

How do you separate the physical healing process of a head injury from the effect that stress and lost sleep are having on you.
For example: since having the operation I recently found out my cyst has come back so I worry I may need another
craniotomy
.

I'm new here....
The elder one banged his head on a pavement 17 months ago and had decompressive surgery/
craniotomy
. The eldest is due for cranioplasty on Dec 21st and I was wondering how long after Surgery is the stay in hospital? He doesn't want to be in for Christmas.

Hi All, I have come across this group while searching the internet for information to help me understand my concerns since Neurolgy surgery
Since January when I had a
craniotomy
to remove a cyst my life has changed massively. The aftercare from the hospital has been non existent and my GP is not an expert in offering practical advice on recovery.

Curious about how fatigue comes on
I think the most frustrating part of recovering from my
craniotomy
to remove a cyst which was back in January, is the lack of control or warning I get with regard to fatigue.

How long before.....
It's been 3 months now since my
craniotomy
. I was told after the surgery no driving for 3 months. Had my lastest MRI at the beginning of this month everything is fine. I confirm with consultant again am I now allowed to drive. Apparently I need to speak to DVLA.

Recovery from craniotomy/meningioma
Our GP and consultant have been very good but can't give us any indication of recovery times for the fatigue, and we are aware that its impossible to say for certain, but I'm just curious as to how long others have taken to regain their enegry after a
craniotomy
(or if indeed they've regained it at all

Which option?
This March he had cerebral angiogram and they found the blood was leaking back into aneurysm. 4 options.....leave and mra in 3 months, recoil and stent,
craniotomy
and clipping or put a tube right across the opening and cut the leak completely. He is 19 and has been asked to make the decision himself

My son and his tbi
With massive injuries all over his body the surgeons was only bothered with his head he suffered multiple brain contusions and the only options was to (a)do a double
craniotomy
to relieve the pressure or (b) to pump him full of drugs to induce a deep coma we chose option(a) within the first few days
