Which option?

My son had sah last Feb, stenting & coiling done all was well. This March he had cerebral angiogram and they found the blood was leaking back into aneurysm. 4 options.....leave and mra in 3 months, recoil and stent, craniotomy and clipping or put a tube right across the opening and cut the leak completely. He is 19 and has been asked to make the decision himself which way to go. Does anyone know the outcomes of all these options? Can anyone lead us to the right information please? Thanks Vera

JUST HAD TO SAY I'M SO SORRY TO HEAR THIS, IT MUST BE AWFUL FOR YOU BOTH.

I CAN'T REALLY OFFER MUCH MEDICAL ADVICE, WHEN MY BLEED EXPLODED (NEURO'S WORD!) IT DESTROYED ITSELF. I THINK THE ONLY PROPERLY QUALIFIED PERSON TO TALK TO IS THE NEUROLOGIST OR NEUROSURGEON WHO'S TREATING YOUR SON.

WHEN IT CAME TO MY CEREBRAL ANGIOGRAM THE NEUROSURGEON WAS REALLY PATIENT & GOOD AT EXPLAINING WHAT & WHY & HOW & THE AFTER EFFECTS OF WHAT THEY WERE GOINGTO DO.

I DON'T THINK A PATIENT SHOULD EVER BE ASKED WHICH TREATMENT THEY WANT IN SUCH A COMPLEX SITUATION. I WOULDN'T HAVE HAD A CLUE, I'VE HAD A BI I CAN'T TREAT ONE!.

GOOD LUCK.
