Titanium Mesh Plate
I had a
craniotomy
7 weeks ago to remove a benign tumor from my skull. That part of my skull was replaced with a titanium mesh plate. The surgery went great and my recovery has been good. The only “issue” I’m having is worrying over the strength of the mesh plate.

Living after Aneurysm
I had a
craniotomy
for a aneurysm clipping in 2007 and have never been the same since then. Over the years I have been developing multiple "medical issues" that are unexplainable and I am starting to feel like my family and even some doctors are beginning to look at me like a hypochondriac.

Meningioma- crainiotomy
Diagnosed with a parasella meningioma in October, go in for surgery (
craniotomy
) next week. Nervous about the after effects such as scar (I have long hair), headaches, tiredness, general recovery time and how soon will I be back to normal with work. Any advise gratefully welcomed.

Cranioplasty long term outcomes
I had an immediate
craniotomy
and then a cranioplasty in Jan. A synthetic cranioplasty 3D printed. The surgical team- nurses- food staff- cleaners at hospital were phenomenal. There are not enough words of gratitude and love I have for them or how blessed I feel to be here.

Anger and relationship
My OH had a cerebellar hemorrhage and
craniotomy
with complications two and a half years ago, and was in hospital for 3 months. He's recovered better than anyone expected, but everyone here who's been there will know that it has not been easy for either of us. Lots of adjustments.

Bone or plate
Has anyone had to have the bone removed after a
craniotomy
and replaced with plate. I'm 3 weeks in and they've told me the bone hadn't taken and will have to be removed so two further operations. Has anyone else had this done.

Flying
Can my husband be refused boarding an aircraft after having
craniotomy
over 5Years ago following bleed to brain. Doctor says it is ok for my husband to fly but as he has not had skull replaced it may be best to check with caa. Don't know how to contact them.

Titanium Cranioplasty - 2 years ago toxicity?
Hello all, A little background - I had a
craniotomy
after I fell 30-40 feet in the Black Hills in South Dakota on a bicycling trip. I needed a
craniotomy
to allow room for my brain to swell at the time. I am perfectly fine now - no memory issues, everything is fine cognitively.

Greetings Headcases or is that just me
Hello, It has been 21 weeks since I underwent a
craniotomy
for the third time. I was really lucky as I got over it quite quickly. The surgical team were very good apart from when I had the drain removed at 11.30pm. The doctor warned me that it was going to hurt and boy he was not wrong.

SAH & BLEED INTO SPINE
I also learned that my self imposed ban was for the period of 12 months because I had a
craniotomy
. It's 6 months when it is just a bleed, and 2 years if one has a seizure. She also said I could drink alcohol in moderation, and I have <5% chance of seizure and I can take HRT.

5 weeks in to my husbands BI and feeling terrified
My husband fell off his bike and sustained a sub arachnoid haemorrhage to his right temporal lobe and a sub Dural haemorrhage He had a
craniotomy
after 6 days and is now in a general rehab ward with a few neuro beds. I believe he still has Post traumatic Amnesia.

Had appointment yesterday treat or not?
A carotid cavernous aneurysm at the base of my brain, behind the right eye, so ruled out
craniotomy
as impossible to reach. It's also got a wide neck so coiling wouldn't be suitable. So left with stent option.

How long do it take regain strength on a weak arm (no movement)?
He also had a
Craniotomy
and he's going to have his skull put back in on Monday. I wonder if that would help.
