Best chair type for recovery
Hi, my boyfriend having a heart bypass in July. I wondered if anyone has any tips or suggestions on the most comfortable type of chair to use at home during his recovery (we moved house this week & thought I would get him a comfortable chair if people have any ideas of what type would be most comfortable

How long does it take!
Hey, please could anyone tell me their experiences of recovery after quadrupal heart bypass. I had this done in February, complications and infections took me back into hospital again after three weeks from being discharged. The infection was in my chest wound, I spent another three weeks in hospital

Tuesday's Angiogram
Well folks how right you all were! I was so very worried about getting through the day and it was no bother, repeat, no bother at all. The mild discomfort lasted a whole 5 seconds, the screen was fascinating to watch and I was given the result on the spot. And it was the best possible - all

Worried about brother still in hospital after heart surgery
Hello, I am posting because my brother is in hospital after a heart bypass and I am worried. He has a very sharp brain but seems to be finding it hard to express himself. He was due home this weekend but has a cough and fluid on the lung plus a partially deflated lung. He was on Amiodarone medication

Insurance company issues
Hi everyone. I'm new to this so I've no idea whether anyone can advise me. I've recently been told I need bypass surgery and it's apparently quite urgent. I've got private health insurance (since 2021, never used), but when I contacted them they said that because I've been on statins since 2015 and am

Sir Ranulph Fiennes
If you are interested he is on the National Geographical channel tonight at 8pm This of course is the man that after his heart bypass ran 7 marathons in seven days in seven different countries . I must admit he was a great inspiration to me when I was feeling very sorry for myself after my triple bypass

Always the unexpected!
I recently had to have surgery on my face for Basal Cell Carcinomas (a not too drastic skin problem from sun damage). As I have multiple health issues the surgeon decided on a general anaesthetic to do skin grafts. I checked in and when the anaesthetist saw me I asked if he had seen the letter from

CBD (thc free) for pain relief
I’ve had a Triple Heart Bypass and Mitral Valve Repair. Before that I had a Lumber Spinal Laminectomy (which only worked for about 4 months). I’ve since also been diagnosed with Heart Failure so pain relief is very difficult. The Spinal Stenosis is now severe all down the Lumbar Region. I was given

full heart bypass
I have had a full heart bypass after just over 4 months waiting. I am now nearly 3 weeks post op. Nobody could have prepared me of how hard this is. I know I will feel better and I am getting stronger each day. The emotional rollercoaster is the worse. I am sad, angry and trying to be positive all at

Pains after heart bypass
Hi, had double heart bypass 2 weeks ago and at least once a day I get pains in my neck and chest which ease when I walk about. I did have a partially collapsed lung whilst in hospital and wondered if this was something to do with it. Has anyone ever experienced anything similar? I’m seeing the cardiac

Do you find Doctors don’t physically examine you anymore ?
Had a heart bypass 4 years ago but since then I’ve had two unrelated problems that years ago would have entailed a physical examination- primarily by the doctor before a referral . Ok I’m a woman so I won’t go into the specific details . However I had to sign a form before the date of my referral giving

Views on running after CABG?
I suppose this is a addressed to people who used to run before their operation.I used to run and I wasn't very good.Pre op on a treadmill I could run at 5mph, or twelve minute mile pace, if I veered over this I might have chest discomfort and had to take a rest.I was warned not to exert myself but felt
