Summer COVID UK
Hiya, I have ET JAK2 and several of my friends have come down with COVID. I was wondering if anyone knew if we were eligible for free COVID tests in the UK and how to go about it ? Can we also get the anti virals if the worst comes to the worst and I do get it? I looked online and couldn't make much

thyroid and knee steroid injection.
hi I’ve recently been diagnosed as having hypothyroidism and I’m taking thyroxine. A few days ago I had a steroid injection in my knee for an injury that hadn’t healed. My question is can the injection affect thyroxine. I’m totally shattered.

Medicare won't cover Paxlovid twice within 6 months
I figured this is worth sharing - as I was shocked to have gone through this, but I found a solution worth sharing that even my pharmacist didn't know about. Yes, I think we all know by now that if you have CLL its important to get Paxlovid if you get COVID (and it really works well). I had COVID in

Post lurgy and niggles - update
Well Covid got me and the runs had to take a back seat for a while. I tried a short run the week after and it was such a puffer I had a word with myself and took another week off for recovery. When I next set out for a 20 minute session at a slow plod (I should say, even slower than usual 😀), I started

THANK YOU TO ALL RE: Covid Anti Viral Meds.
Thank you for all your helpful replies. As I had telephone appointment already scheduled I spoke to Haematologist about getting Anti viral meds. Apparently things have changed and these Covid meds cannot now be sourced through Haematology. On ringing my GP the receptionist understood right away and went

Gut problems with Pavlovid
hiya, never posted before but just seeking advice. I have GPA was diagnosed at the start of COVID. I currently take azathioprine. After avoiding it for all this time COVID finally got me and I’ve finished a course of Paxlovid. Despite some residual symptoms mainly breathing difficulties I have recovered

COVID
I have Covid! I don't recommend it -- I feel terrible. I hope it doesn't cause a flare. I am down to zero prednisone and my adrenals suddenly caught up so I was feeling normal. Still on the Kevzara, however.

Covid Update
Hi all, a quick update to my previous post. I have had a couple of days of negative tests for Covid so holiday plans are going ahead as planned (as at this time!). It's been an "interesting" few days but I am feeling a huge amount better than I was, not 100% by any means but leaps and bounds better

Covid. Do we still have to receive Antiviral medication?
I have just tested positive with Covid after Husband started with symptoms. I went onto NHS website to report it but it informs that this is no longer necessary. I wonder if we still have to request Antiviral treatment through 111 or GP. I have ET JAK2 Pos.

headache update #3
Yesterday was bad. Last night agony. Went back to instant care today hoping for the steroid injection the ER Dr recommended. Dr said in his experience the shots aren’t super effective and don’t last long. He did seem to agree with the occipital neuralgia diagnosis. So instead we are going with stronger

To share interesting experience!
Good morning my MPN family, Yesterday my husband tested positive for Covid, then I decided to take test too and was positive. After that I went to contact my MPN team and request antiviral Paxlovid medication. I was not able to get through my MPN team as I was hoping then I called 111 and as I was talking

guided steroid injection
I’m due to have a guided steroid injection in the big knuckle joint on my foot to alleviate pain, stiffness and immobility caused by my rheumatoid condition. . I’m hoping it may also help the tendinitis and Enthetitis that resulted from a severe leg muscle injury that was untreated due to the pandemic

"Oral Nirmatrelvir–Ritonavir [ Paxlovid ] as Postexposure Prophylaxis for Covid-19" -- does not do much
"... In this placebo-controlled trial, postexposure prophylaxis with nirmatrelvir-ritonavir for 5 or 10 days
did not significantly reduce the risk of symptomatic SARS-CoV-2 infection
." [That sort of has been the suspicion since the very beginning.] https://pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/39018532/

Probably nearing treatment -some questions
My haematologist has sent a letter to my GP that she will be asking me to meet with her in several weeks time "with a view to starting treatment given the evidence of cutaneous progression." I missed my last appointment with her because she was ill, so had a phone appointment with another of the consultants

Covid booster
hi looking for some information/ advice please. 3 months ago I paid for a private Covid vaccine and received the Novavax . I was not in the age group for a free vaccine and paid to protect my partner who has vasculitis. The clinic rang me today and offered me a booster as it was 3 months since I received

Do Covid symptoms last longer with us?
I got my first case of covid last Thursday. Started Paxlovid immediately and din't get very sick. I tested Tuesday, thinking I would be negative but still positive. Do CLL'ers take longer to shed the virus?
