headache update #3

Yesterday was bad. Last night agony. Went back to instant care today hoping for the steroid injection the ER Dr recommended. Dr said in his experience the shots aren’t super effective and don’t last long.

He did seem to agree with the occipital neuralgia diagnosis. So instead we are going with stronger steroid pills and adding amitriptyline to help with pain and inflammation.

the goal is to make it to my neuro appointment August 5. For some odd reason I still haven’t heard from him.

I'm sorry you are having such a terrible time. I know you need relief right now and I hope the meds work, but I wish I could send you to my pain doctor for an occipital nerve block! I really hope you feel better soon. ❤️

I’ve been doing really good since Wednesday. But I finished my steroids yesterday. Hopefully I stay fine until I see my neuro monday.
