Flu jab
I am due to have a flu jab on 26th Sept. I have 2 questions about the timing. I have just started a short course of steroids for a cough - 10 days only. I think the cough is the after effects from from primary lung cancer radiotherapy treatment. I take Ibrance and Letrozole for secondary breast

Urologist vs. Oncologist?
I was diagnosed with Prostate Cancer in November of 2012. At that time, my PSA was 8 and my Gleeson was 5 + 4= 9. I started Guided Radiation Therapy, at Scripp's Radiation Center, in La Jolla, in January 2013. I started Lupron Therapy, in November of 2012. (2 years worth) In December of 2016 I experienced

Single Bone Met
My partner was diagnosed three years ago, Gleason 9/10 and PSA 6.5 with Advanced Prostate Cancer. It had just gone into one of the seminal vessels but not lymph nodes. So removal was not an option. He was given radiotherapy and put on Zoladex for two years.. At the outset he was given a bone scan

Nice news
For those who have followed my journey, I wanted to share a pic of my wedding day. A day I didn’t know if I would see. I had no eyebrows or lashes and hardly any hair, but with the help of my amazing makeup lady and hairdresser and wig supplier, I was able to look how I had imagined I would when we first

So last September I was on my annual break in beautiful Weymouth when I received an urgent message to contact my Doctor at home. The name says it all
I am going to be a 2020 bride. In fact one year from today - 5th September 2020. So plenty of time to steadily lose weight. I had cancer back in 2013. Put weight on with chemo, radiotherapy and lots of steroids, and remain on two lots of medication both of which have a stated side effect of weight

Good news from biopsy
The report just arrived that a biopsy of a vertebrae shows no signs of cancer. My original bone scan showed activity in the rt tibia and in the T6 vertebral body. Subsequent scans showed no activity in the tibia, but the activity in the T6 vertebra persistented and showed no regression after several

Sugar and cancer, in particular Chronic Lymphocytic Leukaemia (CLL/SLL) – what you need to know
We've had a few questions lately about whether we should avoid sugar after a diagnosis of CLL, from members concerned about the influence of sugar in their diet on their CLL progression and of course because of the simplistic claim that sugar feeds cancer cells, so starving ourselves of sugar will starve
