I'm a Challenge!
My Oncologist told me today that I'm quite a challenge! We went over the side effects I'm having, bladder pain, horrible joint pain, tooth pain, exhaustion and more. I asked to have my Ibrance reduced to 75 mg and he agreed! We are also reducing my inhibitor by half- he feels that may be causing the

Mixed results yesterday Bones lung nodules stable Liver met smaller after SABR radiation BUT a tiny new liver met has shown up on mri but not visible on ct scan I’m really upset as I’ll have to have another bloody course of SABR for that...might even have to wait till it gets bigger...wish I’d not taken

Hi everyone, Long time no see🤗 The long trips to Wythenshawe, the biopsies, scans and 5 months of stress are now over. Because of all your advice and my own thoughts and reasoning, the 1.5cm nodule in my right lung has disappeared!!! And to think they wanted to give me Radiotherapy 😫It's such a relief

How many bumps are on this road again???
Admitted to hospital with what I thought was a chest infection and bad reaction to antibiotics on Monday - turns out I have 2 sites of Mets on the brain. Totally floored me. Made the decision to "come out" to extended family and friends. What a difference that's made. The support and love I'm getting

Ain’t Life Grand
Well folks, I am coming up on my one year anniversary of dating Erleada. She has not been too bad even though she did raise my BP a bit (and they got a pill for that). My PSA is .01 and at last check there is still no evidence of metastatic disease. Nineteen years I have been dealing with this disease

AF & Cancer Treatment
Hello all, I'm hoping you can help us? I've received a patient call today from someone who has atrial fibrillation - well controlled with sotalol. Their last episode was in 2016. They've never had a cardioversion or ablation. They also take apixaban - low dose due to low weight. They are due to start

SM-88 Report; #2 of 2 from Tyme
Hello again, I've been following Tyme Technologies and their development of SM-88 for a while. Very interesting metabolic approach that is being tested on several kinds of cancers, notably prostate and pancreatic. Best to all, Mr Safety Pasted below from: http://www.globenewswire.com/news-release/2019

Ginger extract
Hi, I've been doing some research for my husband who's just finished 37 sessions of radiotherapy. He can't take Turmeric as he has Gallstones but I've read some good things about Ginger. Does anyone take this? Can't find any posts so don't know if I'm missing something. Also not sure how long to leave

Here we go again.
In the January of '18, I don't recall the day. They said you've gullet cancer and there it cannot stay. They sent me off to Oxford to see what they could do. Where a man named Mr Marshall said "I'm sure I can help you" They put a camera in my gut and sent me for a scan. Then called me back and confidently

Men with Prostate Cancer can be Spared Radiotherapy after Surgery
This large RCT found that early salvage radiotherapy (SRT) is not inferior to 'standard' treatment with adjuvant RT (ART) with respect to biochemical failure in patients with pT3 disease and/or positive surgical margins (SMs) after radical prostatectomy (RP). https://www.esmo.org/Press-Office/Press-Releases

Radiation to the chest (the mediastinal region)?
Has anyone had radiation to the chest area? Specifically the mediastinal region? My radiation oncologist is going to do hypofractionated (which is a shorter course of radiation) course of radiotheraphy My questions are: 1) have you had any side effects 2) was the radiation treatment successful
