Post treatment sensitivity to mosquito bites

Has anyone experienced a change in their body's reaction to mosquito bites after undergoing ADT and/or radiation therapy? As a kid, I got the usual hive like welt when they bit me, and eventually -- up until this year -- I've had almost no reaction when bitten. Now I get an extremely itchy blister instead of the hive and have occasional evidence of a minor infection at the bite site.

Is this just another instance of getting to experience puberty again after the end of ADT/ART? Like . . . the return of BO . . . getting to watch the strip of pubic hair come back . . . graduating out of pullups and into big boy underwear . . . the thrill of libido (with a tri-mix assisted erection) . . . .

It sounds like an allergic reaction. RT and ADT are immune system stimualnts.

We have few mosquitoes here but anything is possible with our altered chemistries. I became Uber sensitive to any pain. Just stubbing my toe hurts like a mofo. I’m accident prone too now . I walk with caution trying not to hurt myself.

I thought it was just me, but I’m the same way! My toes (especially) and fingers are extremely sensitive and any bump or such and are 2x painful as pre ADT. I will now officially add that to my long list of ADT side effects.

I too have severe neuropathy from overuse of hard antibiotics my first two years with the tubes . Hang in there Ron . We slog through the drudgery in hopes of staying on top of pc instead of letting it ride us into the dust . I got bit by a scorpion two years back . The most pain until I got pain pills the next day from emergency care . .

I recently joked on a Facebook cancer page that mosquitoes vomit after biting me (I'm just finishing chemo). I got a number of replies, particularly from the colon cancer crowd, that bugs stopped biting them during chemo. So yeah, crazy side effects do happen and maybe you are seeing an effect of ADT.

The darn mosquito got a bad fix of you .hope it died. . Take care friend ..

To stop the itch (almost immediately) rub a little VICKS ointment on the bite.... It works believe me.... My backyard is mosquito world/ground zero....
