Survival after Radical Prostatectomy versus Radiation Therapy in High-Risk and Very High-Risk Prostate Cancer
This just appeared in today's email. Apparently a database study of patients treated 2010-2016. At 5 years out, RP less cancer-specific mortality than RT.....the most significant advantage for very high-risk men. https://pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/34555930/ Not a randomized study, but will we ever have

RLS controls my life
I am totally overwhelmed by all your replies to my recent post and my RLS. I feel comforted that at last someone understands what we are going through. It’s so hard when people say oh yeah I get that. I hate it so much and what it has done to me. Thank you all so much for taking the time to reply

6 Weeks after end of radiotherapy -- Still having problems! - Comments please
Finished radio therapy, 20 sessions on lung, 1st December. I'm still very weak, sleeping during the day , try to go for a walk every morning but can only do about 0.8 of a mile. Are these normal reactions? Any ideas as to full recovery times?

Extrapulmonary small cell cancer
Hi everyone, My wife was recently diagnosed with extrapulmonary small cell cancer which presented in the breast. After having PET scan and brain MRI the cancer was thankfully no where else in her body. This type of cancer is very rare and the treatment is typically the same as for small cell lung cancer

Salvage Pelvic Lymph Node Dissection in Recurrent Prostate Cancer: Surgical and Early Oncological Outcome
While googling possible treatment of retroperitoneal lymph nodes I found this and thought it was interesting. I know this is not my husband's situation but others might be interested who haven't started ADT and who have slower moving PSA. Is surgery for RPLNs ever a good idea for recurrent prostate

Chiropractor or not
After falling out of bed about three months ago, I have been left with a whiplash sort of injury in my right shoulder. I visited a chiropractor who indicated that my whole back and right shoulder is very stiff and would benefit with some treatment. Four years ago I had breast cancer on right breast

Why not brachytherapy for PCa infected lymph nodes? The study below was not for PCa but was fairly successful.

LDR brachytherapy at MSK: Day after treatment
Hi all, I posted here about three weeks ago that I'd decided on LDR brachy -- radioactive seed implants -- as monotherapy, having decided between that and HDR brachy and SBRT. They were the three options that my RO at Memorial Sloan Kettering (MSK) had said had very good and equal outcomes as monotherapy

Radiation side effects 25 sessions vs. 42
My next decision is what dosage I should choose. (I believe that a breakthrough cure is going to come within the next 5 years that will change the whole approach to treating PCa. In the mean time I am going down the path of SOC because it seem to be the best available choice to make for survival but

How long will I need ADT?
Had RP in Oct 2020 with recent reoccurrence. I started ADT 3 months ago which is planned for 12 to 18 months. Start 37 sessions of radiotherapy mid January. My psa last week was 0.01 down from 12 and rising before ADT. Wondering if ADT is not curative maybe this might be shorter??

Ideas for coping with self isolation please.
How did you cope with self isolation before surgery? I had my PCR test on 29 December to go in on 3 January for my debulking op on 4 January. It's day 3 and I am really struggling with not seeing anyone and it is exacerbating my anxiety about the op too. I just want a hug really but I live on my own.
