Trial at the Christie
Hi, Since my last post about Immunotherapy a lot has happened, I was initially going to start on Docetaxel/Nintedanib tomorrow as the trial at the Christie was full. Then i had a call from them to say there was a place for me after all and i start the screening process on Thursday. I am nervous but exited

Uplifting stories on single lung transplants needed please!
Since the beginning of July 2016, I've been on 'The Active Transplant List for a single lung transplant' at Harefield Hospital I've been told, by one of my Transplant Co-ordinator Nurses that it's more difficult to get a single lung donor. I so wish I'd never learnt this! However, my surgeon

New to this... Tried everything for post surgical pain.
Hey. I've never really used a forum like this before although I have read them. I'm 22 years old and had lung surgery 3 years ago following a pneumothorax which couldn't be resolved. My lung is generally okay now but I've been left with chronic pain around my ribs on the side and at the top of my chest

Liquid Biopsy Better Option for Advanced Lung Cancer Patients
Imagine, getting a simple, noninvasive blood test instead of a surgical procedure to test for advanced lung cancer mutations. Then, imagine the liquid biopsy being the more efficient and reliable option of the two. Research is even showing that liquid biopsies are capturing clinically relevant mutations

My Father Has Silicosis (black lung)
My father was an architectural stone mason for the majority of his life. He has worked tirelessly maintaining the city of edinburgh as one of the most beautiful cities in the world. He needs a double lung transplant but the waiting list is so long that he will likely be too weak to undergo the operation

My personal story regarding Aspergillosis
Last summer I ended up in intensive care with a
collapsed
lung
, a drain was inserted which released masses of yucky secretions. I was eventually discharged after 4 weeks. An Xray six weeks later showed my lungs to be totally clear. I am convinced the drain removed most of the fungus.

The latest news on another immunotherapy
Hi Everyone! A new immunotherapy called Tecentriq showed positive results in a study of patients with lung cancer. This new treatment could be FDA approved for the treatment of lung cancer as early as October. Tecentriq works a bit differently than currently available immunotherapies so it will be exciting
