The NHS is just dire

So, I phoned the hospital today! Spoke to some woman filling in for my consultants secretary! Explained that I started my period a week last Wednesday, which put me on my arse! My ovary felt like it was going to explode!... And now I’m subsequently getting sicker!

This was the response I got! 1) she told me I couldn’t have had a period, because I received a Zoladex injection on 3rd of March! I mean, is she for real? I’m 35, I know what a f’ing period is! And then went behind my back and messaged my consultant asking if I could have a period? Wtf? If anyone’s unaware, you can have a period on your first Zoladex injection, I know, because I’ve had one!

So then she mentioned the night sweats, but forgot to mention the weight loss and severe nausea! So now my consultant is offering HRT? At this point you can’t make it up! They’ve not even made sure the original infection had gone, never mind even bothered to see if I have one now! So back to watching the situation!

I never got a fever last time until the infection had hit septicaemia!

So now, it’s progress to septicaemia, or get left with a colostomy, because I’m pretty sure this ovary is still infected!

Unbelievable the crap they will say to try and get rid of you!!!I've had Five prostap injections and ended up bleeding twice a month, not spotting, full blown periods.

Really hope you've not got an infection, but if you feel like that just take yourself to A&E. I'm sure there'll understand you being there and tough if they don't it's you that's suffering.

Think they're drs! Lol. Not quite the same. But after 6 months agony got my operation date next week...rang gp for stronger painkillers to get me through and she was lovely and all like- good luck with the op and you ll feel much better after etc etc which was great BUT had to go private because gp surgery has ignored me for 6 months wouldn't see me or examine me. 1st referral to normal hospital never went through. Then Said they'd chase my consultant referral and never did. Was first receptionist in like 8 calls that didn't shout at me for not using the online system!

I would keep at them. I had periods on the injections I was given hrt with the injections the 2nd time (I had 2 6 month cycles of the injections) 1st time I was on them it stopped my period completely 2nd time I blead the entire time I was on them. I had ovaries removed 3 years ago and they were found to be full of cysts inside xx

You couldn’t make this stuff up, it’s ridiculous. Do you think you’re up to calling them back next week, or A&E?

A&E will have your notes on previous infections or try a different hospital.

I told complaints they were idiots last week 🙄

I self medicated! Managed to get antibiotics from Superdrug through friends! They sell metronidazole for BV! Wahooo! Anyway I’m feeling much better! Only problem is now I’m passing pencil stools, but battling on! I’m the size of a house! Literally look 9 months pregnant, but the thinnest I’ve ever been, but battling on! Not been on because I’ve either been sick or catching up from being sick!

Hope you’re well xx

I’d normally be the one to say be careful doing things like that, but so good you’ve got something and feeling better 😀. it was getting ridiculous. I’ve hopefully ordered some online, ones for SIBO, not sure if it’s been approved or not yet. I can’t wait for NHS to act, they drag their heels. If I do get them I’ll leave a message with dieticians and see if they want to do the test more quickly. 🤣

I doubt it! I got them then was like do I, don’t I, started the course then thought should I or shouldn’t I, phoned my consultant who told me I just need HRT and thought forget it, treat it yourself!

It worked, I picked back up, but my weight is still low, and my belly is still huge!

I can’t f about! The last time this happened and all these Drs where being difficult, passing me from pillar to post, I ended up homeless, forced to move in with some guy I’d just met, who was abusive, to end up homeless a further 2 times, to be forced to move in with my schitzophrenic sister, to end up homeless again! My life was f for about 3 years! I’ve finally landed on my feet, and bam, back at square 1! I’m barely treading water to keep afloat! Xx

Oh crikey, have you explained all this to the doctors? I know what you’ll probably say is yes and it does nothing. There are things I’ve mentioned which made no difference. If you are getting rent paid, they will cough up for a deposit if need be.

I think it’s awful how they handle health these days.

I don’t want to but depending how it goes with CQC I’m looking to take it further.

Well I kinda messaged them last night, pointing out the obvious! The reason my left side is f’d is because I was violently sexually assaulted (some **** rammed his **** in me while I was asleep) which triggered a chain of events that ever Dr ignored, to result in the need for major surgery that ultimately left me f’d! And while all that was going on I ended up homeless and penniless which triggered another chain of unbelievable events! And now, I’m back at square 1, but this time having to self medicate, because every time I turn to a Dr I get the f’ing door slammed in my face! And well at this point, I’m so mad I could message f’ing Bojo himself! Xx

So sorry you’ve gone through so much, I understand to a point, not anything as physical that you’ve suffered. I hate doctors, trust is supposed to be the most important thing, but you can’t anymore. They have to stop relying on stress as an issue, it’s mostly secondary anyway, and due to them not doing anything to start with. You have done amazingly well despite everything. I am keeping 🤞you get the right help this time. Hope you’ve blasted them.

Have you tried your MP? I’ve noticed that people have success sometimes. With the publicity at the moment it could prove useful.

I’m thinking MP! I’m going to lose the plot at some point for sure! It’s weird my gp has abandoned me, told me i have to use my consultant or a & e? It’s the gp who is responsible for your health, not your consultants or a & e! Also, I thought we was meant to be staying out of a & e with the pandemic and all!? F knows! All I know is I’ve been abandoned! Xx

Moon_maiden in reply to Heloo85

GP is responsible, it’s like they give up. Just send a form everyday, I threatened it.Complaints told me to go A&E 🤦‍♀️🙄 I may do that tomorrow at this rate.

Hopefully your message to GP will work 🤞

How is the pain at the moment?

Heloo85 profile image
Heloo85 in reply to Moon_maiden

The chronic pelvic pain is just about the same! The independent pain in the left ovary/bowel has subsided with the use of antibiotics, but it was bad! It felt like my bowel/ovary was going to tear! Yes, gps do give up, because they know nothing! Probably still believe the infection I had was just an ‘sti’ that wasn’t picked up on swabs!

I don’t know what it is about my endometriosis and infection!.. but it likes to trigger them! So far I’ve had 2 serious infections and god knows how many non-serious infections, but infections that I treated, before they become serious! Is there any research into it? I know any internal bleeding can trigger infections, but there’s obviously something amiss! Xx

Moon_maiden profile image
Moon_maiden in reply to Heloo85

It’s still good some has subsided with the antibiotics. Personally I think that infection can be part of it otherwise uti wouldn’t be so common. GP’s should be willing to try a long low dose, they can do this. If probiotics are taken at a different time there will be a better balance.Any infection is serious to me and they shouldn’t ignore it.

I’ve seen research papers, research gate.

Without a doubt the gynae and GP should be treating you better. If you go to A&E every time the message will become obvious. They’ll get cross you go there and will act to tell gynae.

Hi there, please try (look up) Manuka Honey..it’s specifically for superbugs that are resistant to your infection. That should rid your chance of septicemia. As for the infection too, use Apple Cider vinegar 1-2 Tbsp in water, mix pinch of baking soda and the 1 tbsp of manuka honey! Take that 1 tbsp of honey & BRAGGS Apple cider vinegar (organic) Twice at least a day. This should halt and kill your infection. Best of luck! Oh, and stay on this therapy until the pain is gone..add 1 week to it at that point minimally.
