Recurrence!
Been a bumpy year (5 1/2 years ago R lower lobectomy stage 1 R upper lobe wedge stage 1) .....(see below for recent details) but wondering for those who had recurrences when did they occur and how were they managed? Did you have others since? My surgeon did frozen sample in OR and detected no cancer

persistent pneumothorax
I finally had my procedure last Wednesday due to uncertain recent pet /ct changes ( had r lower lobe lobectomy and r upper wedge 5 1/2 years ago) at the scar site of upper. Bronch was completed with insignificant findings but Tumor board recommended to go in for surgery. Great news following surgery

colostomy
hi Les is suffering really badly with severe back and neck pain when he is put on the commode and says he feels like his going to pass out with the pain, yesterday he said he wanted a colostomy bag so he didn’t have to go through this , has anybody else experienced this ? And are there any MSA sufferers

I have now been told that I have PTSD! Why?
I have had anxiety and depression since I had a breakdown 16 year's ago when a woman I thought was a friend, stabbed me in the back ( not literally!) because she wanted to be me ! Goodness knows why ! Long story! I fought hard with the help of an OT and I would not be here but for him and people here

Excessive weight gain after lower lobectomy
Hi everyone, Since I'd a lower left lobectomy last Nov 2022 I've noticed a gradual increase in my weight. I was 9st 12 Ibs & now I'm 10st 12 Ibs. This notable increase's happened within 6 months. I just can't shift the excess weight. My daily routine hasn't changed & I'm at a loss on how to stop my

Do I still say I have cancer?
I had the upper left lobe of my lung (that's a mouthful) removed in February. The tumour was crimping a pulmonary artery and when examining the removed bit it was shown to have active cancer cells - they couldn't remove the lobe cleanly enough without nicking the artery so I was told. Consequently

Hi Everyone, I'm new to this but so glad I found it. Thought I'd introduce myself....no point in holding back!
Hi, This October 2023, will mark the 25th 'Anniversary' of when, at the age of 26, I was wheeled into Theatre for an Operation that lasted 7hrs. I had 8 months previously been told that there was nothing wrong with me when I kept going & phoning the Doctors as my Period (as I thought it was) came

Diagnosed with stage 3b Rectal Cancer in July 21. Chemo / Radiotherapy for 5 weeks in October 21 and APR with permanent colostomy on December 21. Thankfully am still NED 18 months later. One of my symptoms was lower back pain which was really painful but this eased up after the op as it was obvious

impossible decision to make
I’m a 41 yr. Survivor of cervical cancer suffering from Radiation proctitis and a colon stricture. I have been told that a “tricky and risky” colostomy and proctectomy are my only options and that they are “elective” surgeries. I am almost 70 yrs old and fear that these surgeries will cause me to lose

Hi everyone I'm a week post op after a lobectomy and really struggling with arm stiffness. I had a few post surgery complications including surgical emphysema which is now subsiding. Biopsy results following CT and Pet
Thoughts on how to assess this? Had routine CT scan in November and there was slight changes to the site of the scarring from my R UL wedge resection (also had R LL lobectomy at the same time) 5 years prior. Scans prior to this were all clear. MD wasn't concerned but said to come back in 6 months

Chemotherapy after Lobectomy
Hello, everyone. I hope you are well. My auntie was diagnosed with lung cancer last year, and she had a Lobectomy around 3 months ago. The surgery went well, and she is recovering well, too. She had an appointment today and was told that they found cancer in 2 lymph nodes that were removed during

Squamous Cell carcinoma of the Rectum
Hello all, I was just diagnosed with squamous cell rectal cancer. Tunor is in lower part of the Rectum and has spread from close to the anus to the second fold in the Rectum. I'll find out what stage next week when I meet my surgeon but I believe it will be stage 3 or 4. 3 inguinal lump nodes one one

Another nodule immediately after chemotherapy.
Hello everyone, I had an upper left lobectomy in November 2022. In January 2023 I had a CT scan pre chemo which showed a nodule on the right lung of 6mm. The oncologist put me on antibiotics for two weeks and the next came back clear so I started 4 cycles of Cistoplatin and Permetrexed. Another scan

Lobectomy query
Hello, My Dad had a VATs Lobectomy earlier this week. He is doing well physically and is home. However, he is experiencing strange feelings in his chest which make him feel very anxious, making it difficult to sleep. He is not breathless, his lungs are clear and his movement/ walking is really good

Can I opt for a removal of colon stump?
Now that I have a colostomy, I actually love it! Two years ago, I had a rectal prolapse. Doctor removed about a foot of my colon and I was left incontinent. Then, it prolapsed again and was sent to another doctor who fixed the prolapse through laparoscopy. I was still incontinent. I actually had

Doctor didn't see the holes in my colon!
On April 25, I went to the emergency room at a hospital north of me. Doctor diagnosed me as being constipated and sent me home. On April 29th, I again called ambo and they brought me to a trauma hospital. I was vomiting lots of blood from ulcers I didn't know I had. I was hospitalized for 3 days and
