hi

Les is suffering really badly with severe back and neck pain when he is put on the commode and says he feels like his going to pass out with the pain, yesterday he said he wanted a colostomy bag so he didn’t have to go through this , has anybody else experienced this ? And are there any MSA sufferers that have colostomy bags ?

I am so sorry to hear that Lee is in a lot of pain while on the commode. I’m afraid I don’t know much about colostomies, but was wondering if Lee would be more comfortable using a tilt in space commode with neck support that fits him. My partner finds this helps him a lot. Worth talking to your OT? It sounds like you need some urgent help to keep Lee comfortable. Could you Parkinson’s Nurse get involved to help speed up the process?

Forgot to say, it’s actually a tilt in space shower chair that can be used as a commode or over the toilet

Hi DeeMilo25,

Sorry to hear this.

A colostomy would not solve the problem with constipation and surgery is not recommended. Please discuss bowel management with his GP or nurse specialist- unless he has a separate bowel condition then constipation can be managed comfortably in MSA.

You can email me if you would like some advice.

My contact details are on the MSA Trust website.

Kind regards,

Samantha, MSA Trust nurse.

My husband is more comfortable in his hoist sling sort of hovering over the shower chair. He use to get quite painfully neck ache sat on it.

Les is experiencing severe pain when using the commode and even considering a colostomy bag for relief. Has anyone with MSA experienced this? Any advice or similar experiences would be appreciated. My friend recommended oxessays.com when I was struggling with my assignments. I decided to give it a try, and I was very impressed with the service. The writer delivered a high-quality, well-researched paper on time. The attention to detail and the professionalism of the writer were outstanding. It made a significant difference in my workload, and I was very happy with the results.

Can recommend using big dose of probiotics - helped us to solve a similar problem. Especially ps-128, my mom takes them 6 capsules a day, they really help. We also did an FMT procedure, you might want to look into that.
