Update on lupus journey - medication advice
Hello All, I haven’t posted for a while as I was waiting for my first rheumatology appointment which was in January which I’ve already had. Appointment went well, she repeated all my bloods again and check my organs etc, my DS-DNA came back positive again at 19. She said most symptoms are similar

Recurrent Pericarditis
Does anyone have any experience with Pericarditis? I have had it four times now and I am trying Colchicine for a year to see if it prevents recurrences, but so far no luck. Any suggestions of other things I can do/try?

myocarditis - stopping colchicine suddenly causes relapse
Hi My friends had myocarditis since may 2019. Finally diagnosed properly after many trips to A&E. He was getting better but two bad relapses but has two weird issues: Ok-ish during the day but at night or in any resting state it can flair back up. Sudden chest pains. Painful thumps in his chest. It's

Pericarditis
My ablation was on February 2nd. Next day woke to chest pains which were diagnosed as pericarditis. Because anti inflammatories like naproxen and ibuprofen are taboo with Appixaban I was put on colchicine. Side effects were horrendous so with symptoms gone I was told I could drop it. 3 weeks later pericarditis

I saw my new Rheumatologist yesterday and I am struggling to interpret what he said or how I feel about it. I guess the best description is ambivalent. I was very anxious given the last Rheumatologists attitude. The nurse who took my BP said that people were in and out so quickly that he was keeping

Atorvastatin and colchicine interaction
Had a really bad gout attack that started a couple of weeks ago and won’t subside. Used to take ibuprofen to tackle inflammation but since heart issues I’ve been told to avoid NSAIDS. So figured I’d suffer the pain and wait for the gout to run it’s course. Usually my attacks don’t last much more than

pruritus with flare ups?
A quick question to see if anyone else has come across this?! For the past 10 weeks I have been stuck in a cycle of flaring, it first starts with all over itching! This has never happened before and has come on totally out of the blue. At first I thought nothing of it, it is this strange all over prickling

Myocarditis symptoms??
Hi, I have been diagnosed with myocarditis. Every morning I wake up and feel ok, but after I’ve got up on my feet for 20-30 seconds, I get chest pain / discomfort and heavy arms and this lasts between 1 - 3 minutes. I have to sit forward and wait for the pain to pass. I am then generally pain free during

Hair loss?
Hi everyone! I’m currently taking 100mg of azathioprine daily and 50mg of colchicine. I have noticed since taking azathioprine I’ve had crazy amounts of hair loss. I used to have crazy thick hair and now it’s thin and brittle. When I put my hands through it I get a handful. Has anyone else had this happen

Would you go private?
Hi I was diagnosed with pericarditis 9 weeks ago. I pushed for colchicine as my Dr hadn’t prescribed this for pericarditis before and I have been on this now for 3 weeks. Together with naproxen and Lapsoprazole. I’ve had a hospital admission and a few a and e visits too and been off work for 9 weeks

Behcet's and sinus problems
This is my first post here... I was curious if anyone else with Behcet's has had sinus issues? I was diagnosed with Behcet's this past spring, though I've been showing signs since I was 21 (27 now). I am taking colchicine now to help with symptoms. When I was 16, I had surgery to correct a deviated

Chronic Pericarditis
Hi I have been suffering with pericarditis for nearly 2 years. My initial attack was in January 2018. I was taken into hospital with a suspected heart attack - very scary! After being discharges with no diagnosis I went backwards and forwards to my GP with no luck. I then eventually went private -

Fibromyalgia and sweet syndrome together?
Hi, I haven’t posted in some time. I was diagnosed with sweet syndrome last year, hospitalized and put on prednisone and I’m now on colchicine which has helped to keep the sores from getting so bad. I was wondering if there are others with both fibromyalgia and sweet syndrome as well?

Behcets in pregnancy
Hi guys, I’m 32 and been diagnosed with behcets back in 2011. I’ve been on colchicine since and prednisolone when I have flares. I found out a while ago that I was pregnant (on colchicine) and my gp freaked out and asked me to stop the medication which I did immediately. A few weeks after had a miscarriage

Looking for advice on meds and where to go next
Hi everyone, I just saw my rheumatologist who wanted to switch my meds up a bit as he no longer wanted me on prednisone (only wants me to use it when necessary) I had been taking it everyday for 10 months, but I was starting to get severe brain fog.. long story short, since being off of it my mind
