medication question
Hello, I have had Behcet's for the past 18 years and usually respond to steroids, colchicine and Otezla. Having inner ear issues, antibodies and heart problems along with my major debilitating headaches. We can't seem to get them under control and doctor wants to try Humira. Is anyone using this medication

Sharing update my myocarditis
Hi all, This 16 August will be 3 months of having myocarditis. Last month on July I went for medical checkup, everything okay but my troponin still the same as my first day admitted due to myocarditis. Almost 3 months, this journey like rollercoaster ride because sometimes I am having chest pain, neck

Skin Cancer, Azathioprine and Colchicine
Hi All I rather recently had my official DX of BD and they have recommended a reverse taper of Azathioprine starting low and increasing dramatically to dampen symptoms alongside Colchicine to aid with muscular issues. All that sounded well aside from the obvious immunosuppressant questions I had as

Natural Medicine and the Heart
I am not going to get too excited about anything at this point, but after my last mess with drug induced vascilitis, I met with my Integrative Medicine doc on Monday. I have made a few changes and added some supplements and the short term results are a little bit crazy. She had me add some major antiinflammatories

I was diagnosed with Behcets in 2018 followed by breast cancer in 2022. (Interesting to note inflammation in biopsy even for that). It was all fairly well controlled but I was not thriving as such and Nov 23 showed a new symptom - eye inflammation. Basically I read about a study in Birmingham where a

Afraid to start Colchicine and Azathioprine for Behcet's
My son has just been diagnosed with Behcet's and prescribed colchicine and azathioprine. He is afraid to start taking them, fearing that the side effects will make him miss work (he is a roadside mechanic for the AA working 12 hour shifts and 58 hour weeks). He has already been off ill 6 weeks this year

Hi all, Hope you're all as well as can be 💕 I'm back again, if you've seen my previous posts you'll know this last month or so have been really difficult. In the end I had to go to a and e because the pain was so severe in my hips, back and legs and no one could help aside from rheumatology and there

swelling around eyes/eyelids
has anyone experienced redness, swelling, burning and itching of the eyelids. This is a new symptom I have been experiencing since March and had a small flare last year. My eyelids are very red swollen and generally driving me crazy. I feel like I have burns from it. My actual eyes are completely

Taken too much by mistake
This morning, I grabbed what I thought was colchicine for gout and took 3....then returned to look at container and it was my metoprolol! Called the poison hot line after trying to bring them back up (along with my other morning meds) and was suggested to contact my doctor or got to ER for monitoring

Cervical ulcers and joint pain- any advice?
Hello, I am currently undiagnosed with Behcets disease and under the care of the Liverpool CoE. I have my next appointment on 3rd July, so not too much longer to wait and see if I have any answers! In the mean time, I was just wondering if many of you suffer with cervical ulcers as part of your symptoms

pericarditis
Hi everyone, I'm just looking for a little bit of advice from any fellow sufferers... I was diagnosed with pericarditis in January on the 10th day of a Covid-19 infection, after ending up in A&E due to chest pain and difficulty breathing. That acute pericarditis went away around a month later, but

I don't know what to do, very strong Co-codamol doesn't touch the pain and there doesn't seem to be anyone to talk to. I can't take Ibuprofen due to Kidney Disease. I am a reasonably fit 76 year old , play golf 2-3 times a week, don't smoke, little alcohol. My first episode with chest pains came on

colchicine and post ablation chest pain
So I had PFA two weeks ago, and tbh when I woke from anesthesia I felt like I had raging bronchitis but put it down to dry air or breathing equipment. (in fact it caused me to ask my hubby to get ice cream, and he was confused because I never eat ice cream! but as I was the last of the day, and didn't

Colchicine
Hello, I’ve finally persuaded my GP to let me try colchicine for my mouth ulcers while I wait for a referral, and they’ve given me enough for 6 days. I’m 4 days in haven’t had an ulcer, but feel like that’s really not enough time to know if it’s because of the colchicine or just a co-incidence. They

Persistent gout in renal transplant.
Hi, As I understand it many of us will have had gout, I have for 30 years since my transplant. The last 3 years it has been relentless and the past few months: constant. I have been given colchicine and allupurinol but it's not seeming to help any longer. The situation is quite serious as I'm unable
