Hi, I have been diagnosed with myocarditis. Every morning I wake up and feel ok, but after I’ve got up on my feet for 20-30 seconds, I get chest pain / discomfort and heavy arms and this lasts between 1 - 3 minutes. I have to sit forward and wait for the pain to pass. I am then generally pain free during the day albeit with niggles and twinges in my heart area. Doctors are baffled as to why this happens every morning. I’m on aspirin, statin, inhibitors (as docs initially thought I’d had 2 heart attacks due to increased troponin levels & they’re keeping me on heart meds as a precaution). I’m also on colchicine & omeprazole for the myocarditis I wondered if anyone else has similar symptoms ?? Thanks.

Myocarditis symptoms??
Hi Jean,
Myocarditis is not nice . I had two episodes before of being diagnosed with a tumour in my left atrium called Myxoma .
The symptoms that you mentioned are quite common in the first weeks . For myocarditis just have rest and relax . Do everything in your own pace . Luckily they spotted at right time and make sure that you have a holter after your diagnosis. Do you have a normal eyection fraction , right ? Are you having a MRI after 3 months ?
It is important to keep tracked your improvements. It is normal being scared ,but you will be fine .
Take care of yourself and don't stress !
Blessings !
Thank you for replying ! My ECG, angiogram and MRI show normal heart function. I expect some pains & know “rest is best” because of the myocarditis, I was just concerned that docs thought it was unusual my symptoms happened on getting up every morning. Anyway, I’m listening to my body and resting. Thanks again ! I hope you keep well.
