Please help me trace the post on the effective control of RLS by using Castor Oil Pads
I have extensive RLS of all body parts, which is making my life hell. I saw within the past 3 months, a post by an RLS patient that he has been able to control effectively RLS by using Castor oil pads. But, I have not been able to locate the post due to my limitations, I would appreciate it if any

one last question ( hopefully)
I have finally managed to get an appointment with my GP where I hope to convince him to give me B12 injections more often that once every 8 weeks and I never had a loading doses so am hoping for that too. I hope I can get him to do some tests, like size shape and number of red blood cells, intrinsic

Is it possible to have antibodies to parietal cells but not to intrinsic factor? I have no intrinsic factor.

I was diagnosed with PMR about one year ago and placed on 13mg of P. It hit me most in the shoulders and hips: e.g., I could not pull up my trousers because the action of doing so naturally moves your elbows towards the rear of the center line of one's body and that caused great pain. Could also

Intrinsic factor antibody
I'm posting on here as I been advised to. I've just been back to my GP because I had a blood test done the other week for intrinsic factor antibody. I had a result of 3.66 which I thought was positive but my GP just said it's negative ? I had the test done because my vitamins b12 is 211.

Au/ml help
The range for intrinsic factor test result is any result below 1.21u/ml (negative )and above 1.53u/ml (positive). I was informed my result was 1.63. Yes, no measurements of u/ml. When I asked for B12 injections (local GP Wales) as I believed I'd proved I was deficient by these tests coming back high

Intrinsic factor antibodys
Hi I recently had bloods done at GP which one of them was b12. It came back as no action required but I told GP that I think it still to low at 211.. range (180-800) she said about doing another test that might effect the absorbtion of b12 intrinsic factor antibody. My result was 3.66. was prescribed

Examining the Pathology of the Parietal cells
Just read from a post by Rexz , that in the U.S.A. a diagnosis of Pernicious Anaemia can be confirmed by examining the pathology of the parietal cells .( by endoscopic ultra-sound ) This seems an excellent method for confirming such a serious condition as P.A.Which can lead to serious health problems

Depression and PA
HelloI started the PA journey in 2021, positive intrinsic factor and gastric parietal cell antibodies. I am hypothyroid. I thought my low mood would resolve after starting injections and at first it seemed to. I was taking B1 and B2, but stopped. I'm not sure that stopping the extra Bs has caused the

Intrinsic Factor
It occurred to me that it must be possible to synthesise Intrinsic Factor as a supplement to replace what PA people have lost. Does anyone of a scientific bent have any thoughts on this idea?

Hello forum Autoimmune Metaplastic Atrophic Gastritis (AMAG) results in the loss of parietal cells which causes a loss of production of stomach acid and intrinsic factor (IF). The loss of IF results in low B12. My general query is; are there consequences and symptoms connected to a lack of stomach

I am very fortunate that I can pop down to P.A. Society Head Quarters to lend a hand. I did this morning. There are 4 volunteers helping the small amount of staff run the organisation . The person there today was inundated when I rocked up. As they are everyday. We could talk for weeks but I said, ‘No

Found a new way to screw up.
So I am transitioning from swimming due to water temperature to hiking up the side of a mountain at the same time I stopped injecting and went with sublingual. (Only a mile up the mountain.) My body did adjust which is not using up my B12 or reversing out. The only symptom that seemed to get worse and

New papers on PA
There are often new interesting papers on pernicious anemia. I will add them to this thread to keep them all in one place. I'll try to the pick the ones I think are most novel & relevant, but plenty are published every month. To see more, check Google Scholar https://scholar.google.com/scholar?start=
