Drug fails in Phase II trial for treating Parkinson's Disease - Exenatide (Byetta, Bydureon)
Evidence suggest that microglia are relevant to Parkinson's disease pathogenesis, therefore the recent clinical trial warranted exploration of trying to attenuate pathogenic microglial function. They sought to test the safety and efficacy of NLY01—a brain penetrant, pegylated, longer-lasting version

Quick recap for those that haven't followed my previous posts. Diagnosed September 2022 with primary MF, no previous signs or symptoms before catching Covid in June 2022 and health deteriorating until GP visit at end of August 2022. After some RBC transfusions, blood tests and BMP I enrolled on FEDORA

Vitamin D: Secondary Analysis of the VITAL Randomized Clinical Trial (with a surprise!)
I don't know if this was previously posted (it's from 2020)...but it's fascinating. In their first analysis the researchers did not take into consideration...fat https://pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/33206192/ Ah the secondary analysis was done by the same researchers from the original study!

Not about advanced PCa, but might be useful: curcumin and BPH

hu CAR-T 19 IL-18 4th Generation Clinical Trial 90 Day Check-up With All of My Favorite Tests
It's been a long time since I have received a MRD negative diagnosis, 13 years to be exact, after my FCR treatment. All of the other treatments didn't require a BMB to confirm a negative reading, I had a few remissions, but they were just on paper. My blood counts were good, and I felt fine, but a relapse

PDF of Hopkins or Mayo DA Withdrawal protocol??
Hi, I seem to remember a while back finding a link (here I think, maybe on Reddit?) to a PDF someone had gotten from Hopkins, or one of the other big clinics, detailing their precise protocol and what to "expect" when finally off of a DA in terms of days, etc. Can someone please repost that? I went

Hopelessness
I've been diagnosed officially with PTSD this week which is not a shock. I begin EMDR sessions next week so hope those are able to help. I have these bouts of feeling hopeless. I'm trying not to go too hard on myself but just feel that things will never get easier. Cry myself to sleep most nights with

Venlafaxine and Abilify
Hi everyoneI am on Venlafaxine 126mgs because it's all I can tolerate. I am very sensitive to drugs. My Dr has advised me to add Ability but I am very wary about it. I did add mirtazapine but it made me more depressed. I am worried about side effects or getting worse. I would appreciate feedback

Wait or start docetaxel?
Currently taking Nubeqa and Orgovyx but PSA doubling time is only 7 weeks and PSMA scan shows activity in abdominal lymph nodes, 2 vertebrae and 2 ribs. MO suggested DORA Clinical trial (everyone gets docetaxel, half get radium) but the head of a trial I was previously in at NIH feels that unless a CT

Do your mental struggles show something wonderful about you?
As many know, I am a big advocate of Dr David Burns' work. He wrote "Feeling Great" and does the "Feeling Good" podcast. He developed TEAM CBT which is Testing, Empathy, Agenda-setting, Methods Cognitive Behavioral Therapy. He uses a hypothetical situation and asks if there was a magic button that cured

Meditation
There are a lot of people with anxiety which can be hard to express accurately. With me it can be agitation, albeit mild, but it can interfere with coherent thinking. This can make me feel inadequate which then leads to loss of confidence. Worrying is also part of the anxiety profile, and 'overthinking

Dry eyes and hydration
I have lived with glaucoma for more than a decade, and over the years the associated experience of dry eyes and blurred vision has become an increasing problem alongside the treatment interventions and the eye drops that I’m required to use. Some days are worse than others and I’ve never really understood

Feeling Anxious
I have Metastatic Breast Cancer (MBC) I am feeling very anxious and lonely this holiday season. I live alone in Los Angeles. My family is all back East in New York. My fiancé died and 2 BFF's friends died. My "so called" friends are not there for me. I really need more support.
